Not the best

Some teachers aren’t bad but most don’t know how to teach or handle a disruptive class. If bullying goes on it’s most likely that nothing will be done about it.

Teachers are horrible bullies AVOID THIS SCHOOL

Worst school in history. All the teachers are horrible and bully the students. I was a quiet straight A student that was never in trouble - yet teachers were so cruel. They mocked me in crude impressions, mimicked my voice and made fun of me. They laughed at me and insulted me and made fun of me. A certain teacher in particular who stills works there would target me for his own fun and games and bring me to his tiny office and get in my personal space and make me cry. I cried so many times here because of teacher bullying. There has been multiple scandals leaked all over the internet of teachers in group chats and on social media making fun of students and sending horrible messages about them, planning to taunt them. They all still work there and in high positions of power. This also teaches the students to be bullies as well and they are all very nasty and the school has a major problem with bullying as you can tell by other comments. I am now in therapy with diagnosed PTSD from the bullying I endured at the hands of the teachers. I was only a child and I can’t believe they did these things and still do them. I am now an adult and wish I had submitted official complaints about them when I was there as the things they did were illegal. It keeps me up at night knowing these things are still going on. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. It should be shut down.

Nunthorpe Academy

Generally a good school , I personally don’t have a bad word to say . The major problem which is completely out of the schools control however is the students . People who don’t understand that jokes are not meant to be taken as seriously as people take them . The teachers are some of the best in the area , as seen by the grades through the school and 6th form . At my time in Nunthorpe I’ve been given the support I’ve required. So to finish off read the other reviews, know they are completely lying and making the school look bad .

Don’t go here

Most teachers can’t teach, they gave us a supply teacher that told us to copy out of text books for the last five months before exams, ignore mental health issues, bullying and anything that causes them effort, it’s always freezing in there because they don’t put the heating on but won’t let coats/hoodies to be worn to stay warm in classrooms. The building is too small for the amount of students in it. There is only one indoor area to go which is small and can only be in there if your eating and as soon as your not you get kicked out, then you have to go stand in an outdoor sheltered bit no matter what the weather is like. You only get rewarded if your a bad student to try and get you to behave but the good students don’t get recognised for the things they do.

Teachers embarrass you for things you cannot control. Homophobic, racist, derogatory terms used by students and teachers take no notice when you tell them about it but are concerned if your skirt is too short. Only certain teachers can teach properly and explain when you don’t understand. Students also think it’s okay to make fun of people different to them. Students continue to poor their water (which contains their saliva from drinking) all over other students even during the pandemic, increasing the risk of spreading it and teachers still don’t do anything about it.
