Student from 2018-2025

As a student who went here 2018-2025, I’ve got a lot to say.

So from my first years at school (2018-2020) it was really good. The headteacher as the time was very good at coming up with activities the whole school could participate such as wind rush day 2019. When she retired, it was different.

First impression of the new head- you think he would want to wear something smart, right? Well-that was far from reality. He always wore a scruffy jumper and trousers that sagged, my mum thought he was the janitor! While he did open up opportunities, he also got rid of them. We used to have lots of drama productions, especially when my brother went there. The new head didn’t really bother putting together any productions, so our leavers assembly was soo boring, if I was watching I probably would’ve got up and left!

Dance: dance was great at first, a confident dance teacher carefully selecting the students and us getting into the finals. When he moved to another school, I didn’t even bother auditioning because I knew it would be a disaster. Spoiler alert! It was. The dance was not smooth at all, and they came last in the first round!

Food: I barely had school meals. I know the lunch ladies try hard but it just wasn’t that good.

Teachers: It really depended on who you got. My year 2 teacher was strict ish and my year 4 teacher was hilarious. My year six teacher was different. Made a great first impression on transition day, we thought she was great. Then year six actually started. She could not tolerate people crying at all. Once I was crying and she made me walk to the library and read a book until I had calmed down. Receptionist was very kind and cheered me up though.

Forest school was pretty fun but also boring at the same time. There were swings that we were only allowed on for a certain period of time and once we had finished the actual work.

Education: I wish the teachers were a bit more professional in what they taught. We had our class teacher teach us languages, who have looked on Google translate a few times. I think it would be better to have a real languages teacher. The maths and phonics specialists were good though.

That’s about it for my review, thank you for reading.
