Pastrol could not be any worse, they say they’ll help you. But they always end up blaming stuff on you!

Just don’t to it to your child

This school has serious issues with bullying not just by the students. Complaints are ignored or dismissed, SAR’s requested provided conveniently incomplete, they are inconsistent in sanctions dependent on the student it relates to. Safeguarding is a joke. We have proven to the head teacher with physical evidence the staff lie and nothing happens. We now have a 20 year old that has BPD that has been confirmed to all lead back to her attending this school and the way in which she was treated and manipulated by staff. We also know of serious incidents that have taken place in the school which should result in prison sentences but no, things get covered up. I am sure this review will be removed if the school get there way but I will post and post again as I am not saying anything that is not true.

Mental Health

The teachers don't do enough to help students with mental health issues

bad school

very bad school, not allowed to go to the bathroom in lessons, even if it’s an emergency, teachers don’t care or respect students, get given negative points for no reason, students get picked on all the time by teachers, putting them on pressure. school causes anxiety and depression to many students.

Not good

Not good. Pastoral don’t care at all and they do not help. Teachers are way too strict and hypocrites. You could be 3 minutes late and get a detention and they could be 20 minutes late but not get any punishment at all and then students get blamed for being behind. If you do a test you have to read out your score even if it is low such as in language vocabulary tests (they are out of 10) they make you say your score out loud even if you don’t want to. Some teachers really need to get their acts together I swear.

Truly horrendous school

Dreadful school, never deals with bullying. Child has been bullied by students and teachers and never dealt with. Shocking attitude from staff often telling students they are useless and a waste of time, teachers have threatened violence towards students.

Ofsted have been notified of issues.

classroom sets and mental health

i found that this school is fair but can have many slip ups. such as bullying not being dealt with seriously and mental health not being helped. my parents have reminded my pastoral many times about my problems which are only getting worse and no body has helped, i am a person who keeps to themselves so i am too nervous to ask for the help i need. class is a joke, i had a new teacher in year 8 who was quite frankly terrible to the point where she was kicked out. but during her time at the school i was moved down a set due to her. this then made me not care, so i went from being a set 1 student to a set 3/4 student. it was only about a year ago where i realised i needed to buck up my ideas in which i have. but i have been getting about 80% in all tests but throughout my gcse years i have not been moved back up. and as i said i am a person who doesn’t like to talk much so it seems as which i have to ask to be moved up? which is a really bad system. but due to the fact that they are incapable of viewing grades and sets i am now in a position where i cannot go to sixth form because i cannot get the grades i need because of the sets, which also means ultimately i cannot get my dream job i’ve wanted since i was 6 years old. which has all affected my mental health massively, and if you refer to the start of this review... i have not been getting helped for.

oriel high school

drama dept favours students and makes it obvious, pastoral has some of the worst teachers and offers little to no support. also insanely discriminatory against trans/poc/neurodivergent students
cares more about using your phone during break/lunch than genuine bullying.
uniform rules are outdated- girls arent allowed to wear plain black trousers. instead have an option for purple trousers the same colour as the blazer which is just embarrassing, a petition was brought around the school and signed by over the required amount suggested by a pastoral leader and then was denied and wasnt even mentioned or ever brought up by any announcement or teacher.
overall ruined my high school experience attending that school

no remorse for neruodivergent students

mental illnesses are treated like a joke at this school teachers who weren’t meant to be helping were more helpful than pastoral care has ever been. The drama and music department are absolute jokes teachers favouriting students literally bullying students and seeing students being bullied and laughing along my mental state at the time was used against constantly during my time there. overall if you’re mental health isn’t great or you’re neruodivergent this school is awful and ruined my teen years.

Terrible school

Terrible school

The teachers called bullying has friendships issues when I didn’t even know them

The teachers had favourites and put all their attention on them and didn’t give a crap about the students who needed help

The headmaster balms the older years (years 9,10,etc for something that years 7 did outside of the school
