This school is okay as a former year eleven student I feel like there is no mental health support or academic support. I asked to go into a consolidation lesson because I was struggling but I got refused. The teachers are lovely do not get me wrong. The principal is one of the nicest person you will ever meet however the rules are a bad. Toilets are locked which goes against human rights and despite having a doctors note I was still not able to have a toilet pass for me to go to the toilet. Therefore I kept getting punnished for walking out or turning up one minute late just to go to the toilet. The food is overall a pass. And the science teachers are the best

I was walking into the school when they gave me a reflection for not having a planner and at lunch when they give you the dinner the food has got hairs in it and they give you it with there bare hands when they give you it a thumb indented into your food it's horrible and horrific and a few weeks ago I got cereal up in the PDC and I got 8 day expired milk never had breakfast from there since should get shut down when teachers shout at you they spit all over you detentions for silly reasons not having pe socks or something really don't recommend

They are strict with rules. The school is good, I think it has improved BIG from the past years. I am new to the school and I like it already. I would TOTALLY recommend going.

The school is good I have been in this school for 3 years and haven’t even got bullied once.The teachers are nice and you get spectacular education but the bad thing is that they are very strict with rules.I would recommend coming to this school.

This school is horrible it doesn't let any students speak or explain there story when something bad happens they just give detetions they used to lock up the toilets without giving any explanation for why they were closed the food is unacceptable the amount of times I have found hair in my food is shocking the hygiene is disgusting when making food the pizza's are either extremely oily or dry they touch the food with there bare hands when handing it to you when they give you it you can literally see a thumb shaped whole indented in your food it's horrific. The teachers claim to help people but don't do anything to help with the situation you are I would give this school a 0 star rating if I could please do not send your year 6 kids here it is horrible

My son raja, was racially and sexually abused by one of his classmates next to the bathrooms, turns out the teacher also on his break harassed my son, this is OUTRAGEOUS, the teacher left a few years ago however that didn’t stop the trauma and experiance they have done to my poor child’s bum

The school is shit I got excluded for not giving my Jewelry to staff you get manhandled by staff and they open toilet doors on you they also have locked a block of toilets from use. The food has have several people food poisoning.

Locked down toilets because they care about money more then the students well-being and teachers treat us like there pets 1 star

I recently had an interview at Outwood Academy Acklam. I went for the position of pastoral support officer. As I have a level 3 and a bachelors in policing, I was qualified for this role but this was not appreciated by any of the staff I encountered. There was 3 other candidates for this job role. Two of which had experience in schools, with one working for the same academy. Once the vice principal, Luke Chapman, heard this, his ears sprung up and completely ignored me and another candidate who was also a recent University graduate. He focused his whole attention on the two more experienced candidates. After a brief tour of the academy, and still being completely ignored by Mr Champman, we where then told to complete a written assessment. This consisted of multiple choice questions, some questions I found extremely difficult as I had no experience in working in a school environment. After the written test, it was time for the interviews. However, I was never interviewed. I was instead instructed to a small room where I was told I failed the written test and that I would not be interviewed. I drove 40 min to attend this interview during morning rush hour traffic after I had finished a night shift. None of this was even considered. I had just been told I failed and had to leave the school. A few hours after this, Luke Chapman phoned me to discuss feedback. I told him I was appalled by how I was treated during this time, I was never given any time to talk about myself of experience. I was simply marked on a multiple choice quiz, it felt as though I was one of the students. The feedback was not at all helpful. Luke Chapman explained that I was not in proper dress for an interview. I was wearing trousers, a shirt with a black and white jacket over the shirt. As graduate working in retail, I'm not in a financial position to purchase certain clothing. I believe what I was wearing was smart and comfortable. You should not be graded on a person's clothing, he acted as though I was wearing jeans and a hoodie. Further feedback was even more useless. My answers I gave on my written assesment where correct but not in enough detail and some of the terms I used where not official. For example I put "senior member of staff" not the official job title of that person. So my clothes and terms where poor enough to cut my interview early. I find this treatment appalling. I don't understand why I wasn't given a chance. For a school that promotes chasing dreams, mine where crushed today and for no good reason!

This is a really bad school needs to be shut down I can't believe it

It’s so bad. So let’s start off with some of the substitutes.. in maths we are supposed to be doing numbers and not the ace program. The same teacher I had in maths was in my life lesson to and people were messing around and they really got away with it so then I turn around and see that I’ve got a C1 for talking. In maths how am I gonna get a job by knowing the ace programme?? Oh yes, I’m just going to to my application for a job interview and they come ask me: “do you know the ace programme because we don’t need maths to prescript things.” The food is mank. Absolutely disgusting. Today I found some hair in there and they don’t even give you water to flush down the dry food.I swear down they give us nothing. Not even a bottle of water while the teachers get 1st class drinks. We used to get juice and drinks and now all we have is toilet water :) we only get water and stuff on ‘special occasions’ only a day as a treat. I’m sorry?? Us students want to be provided when we are school? As we are in school you get payed. Atleast put some money into keeping us hydrated!!! On the walls there are posters saying “drink water or something bc with out it you won’t be able to concentrate” and you ask a teacher for water you get screamed at for not bringing a bottle or they say no to filling ur bottle. How am I exactly supposed to learn when I’m dehydrated? It’s students first right? Why do I see teachers push past us or just leave us there? I do understand that the pandemic is here but atleast do your job properly smh. In online school I’m here asking for help in maths and they don’t bother helping me???? Only less than 50% of the teachers are good (from what I have came across bc I’ve only started) but I don’t know about the others. Give us summit to drink first off Stop caring about the beans more than us.
