Outwood Academy Danum

A lot of very well behaved kids . The teachers were fun , caring and nonsense with the children's education, wellbeing and future their priority...like all schools theres a few bad apples but they are swiftly delt with in a fair manner...i found the teachers very good at there job on a trip to Sherwood. the pupils conduct was exemplary of a good school.

if i must be honest about Danum, i will say that it is a mixed bag of a school which favours biasedness and can be quite reasonable yet over the top with their decision making. one moment would have been the shop shutters over the toilets, which are still there and are still in use today albeit on a much lesser scale but caused outrage righteously. the staff are either incredibly jovial, helpful and passionate in their methods or snide, sarcastic and BIASED only favouring certain groups of the class (i speak from being at the receiving end of this bias from teachers). some staff lack the passion and if they are outspoken enough against the Trust, they are swiftly replaced by former specialist SLT from another school. the SLT, whilst there in good reason, are often power hungry, having not had authority prior to obtaining their role, and overtly enjoy chastising students about the smallest of infarctions instead of being more respectful and approachable in their conduct. the school is secure, i only ever saw a singular break in of the property which failed miserably. bullying is an issue, and doesn't go noticed by staff due to it being cleverly covered up by the perpetrators. i was the victim of microaggressions through bullying through students who would get away with it regularly and were generally put off but tolerated by staff. i understand it happens in every school but it is still a prevalent problem here regardless.

My daughter has been having behavioural problems in this school I've asked for help on several occasions and got no where. I've taken her to the doctors yesterday they have said she has adhd and referred her, my daughter has a punishment ongoing she was suspended for 5 days but also told to attend one of their other schools witch in mine and the doctors opinion 2 punishment for 1 thing and it's caused my daughter to be low mood and very anxious. The principle won't speak to me or compromise or help. Standing her ground .I'm now feeling under presure to take my child out of school. They don't care about children's well being or mental wellbeing just status and bums on seats to look good for offstead. Wants me to send my child to a sister school in the state she's in about going there refuse to let her back till she's done 4 weeks at the other school, I've begged for compromise to get her back into school to be told no. So no I wouldn't suggest you send your children to danum acamy they don't care about your children's wellbeing.

Great school, son is in year 7 and can't fault the school, he's over achieving in all subjects, great support from his teachers and lots of enrichment

It a really bad school you get picked on for the smallest things and there is so much bullying in this school and teachers can’t just sort it out for people to be safe all they care about is them self’s it has to be like them all the time

This school is terrible. As a parent i have found my child crying on the phone to me as her mental health is taking a massive incline. You should not send a child to this school. My daughter has rang me crying saying "the SLT teacher has called me stupid and a silly girl" no parent should have to deal with these issues that come with this school. Also to make the matter worse i have been stood in reception and had overheard the teachers (pardon my french) slagging off students who had misbehaved calling then stupid and mentally deranged. My child has also been bullied by the children of this school multiple times and she has refused to go back.Until these issues are solved DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL!!

The students at this school are completely out of control. At lunch time the students are allowed to run riot with no supervision. It is an accident waiting to happen. The behaviour is that of a prison riot. If it was the last school on earth I would rather home school. Staff are too busy messing around, gossiping or hiding to do anything about anything. The place is a joke of an educational facility.

Very bad, you get picked of for the smallest things

Horrible, bullying is basically ignored and self defense is punishable by exclusion. Avoid it. I’d send my kid to Outwood Academy Adwick instead, way better teachers and environment.
