hell on earth
they don’t give a shit about anyone as long as you don’t roll your skirt or god forbid bobbles on the wrist
they only care about grades
this school has permanently wounded my mental health and i am still struggling
when i was in year seven i started cutting myself and having suicidal thoughts
they don’t help the students with anything
for example one halloween a bunch of other students in our year tried to jump us and hurt one of my friends so we ran to a different friends house and the twats proceeded to kick in the door they were carrying sticks and one had a metal pole that they had found
we had multiple people say what happened and we had names aswell as some footage from security cameras that were on the house
do you know what they did
FUCKING NOTHING
and as for in school there is overt racism homophobia and transphobia everywhere you go
so all things considered this place is horrible and don’t get me started on the head teacher he’s a complete twat and i swear he is sexually attracted to maths

UTTERLY FUCKING BULLSHIT

hell on earth
ever since covid my mental health severly declined but this is because of this school a lot of stuff has happened such as other students trying to jump us and they also caused one of my friends to have a mental breakdown in another one of my friends house and other the other students kicked down the door to my friends house
this was all on halloween and the school did NOTHING to discipline them even though we had names and footage of what happened
there is also A LOT of overt racism , homophobia and transphobia and they don’t do anything
they only care about grades and that is utter bullshit
they also just don’t care about the students in any way shape or form

It was terrible

I left valley this year and I regret going there. They do nothing to help people with anxiety disorders, when I had a panic attack at school they put me in small cramped room so I was out of the way and the the teachers made me feel guilty about having it. Valley does nothing against bullying. They just tell you to forgive them and then let the bullying continue. I was bullied through my whole experience there dues to being queer, disabled and how I look. Staff/slt did nothing about that and they didn't care. They only seemed to care when it was their favourite student who, from my experience, was usually the bully. Not to mention their teaching is terrible I hardly learned anything in lesson and the teachers got angry when I didn't understand or asked for help. Plus you get detentions for being like 5 seconds late, they seem to enjoy giving out detentions

Ive seen it

Well what can i say, or where shall i start....

I was told by a LM that they will always believe the teachers over the students as they are professionals? (safeguarding issue right there) as lets face it us as adults can also feel stressed and actually get things wrong but lets not let the professionals admit that - lets call students liars, even multiple students saying the same thing.
A lot of the Teachers feel like they hold power over these children- like they are better than them, these teachers want the students to respect them but will not give any respect to the children. How can a child give someone respect when 1. They don't receive it and 2. When they are spoken to like dirt. Respect - children learn from us adults and if you do not give them respect, why will they give it back? (with boundaries and rules of course) I am not saying when a child misbehaves not to give them warnings etc etc as children still need rules - boundaries and consequences but honestly this is beyond eyerolling for the reasons given for the c4s, its actually laughable at times, until your child if mentally depressed and scared. one for example is "not holding pencil when watching demonstration in art." yes this was written as a full valid reason to why the child got a 30min detention.
Its not like this in the real world, and thank god it isn't because i for one wouldn't be able to hold a job down - i lose my pens all the time, leave them everywhere or someone has picked it up while in my office. I do not get told off for this off my manager. Also sometimes you are late, I am a very punctual person but you know what life, life can just get in the way sometimes and its been one of those mornings... Think i would also be annoyed if my managers was stood at the entrance with a sour face telling me because i was 2mins late i now have to work 30 mins for free !!!

The rules also need to be used correctly by every teacher! i cringe when i hear he way children are spoken to.

Horrible Staff

This school is a total catastrophe!!!. Teachers not listening students and parents. They ignore them. Teachers give detentions and suspensions for almost everything. I am a parent and I am considering to move my child away from this horrible school.

This schools really dumb

Absolutely awful. Consequence system is stupid, so what if im late 2 seconds? Im still getting 30 mins after school. Also the staff are so annoying enjoying giving people c4s and ruining their day. Also the bullying is huge and they're doing nothing about it so people have to deal with it themselves. They dont give a shit about people and lie a lot, once i was ill and they told my mum id be out at 12:00 but they let me go at 13:00 without telling my mum.

Stupid school, hope it gets shut down.

BAD

Horrendous

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, THE TEACHERS COMPLETELY DISREGARD WHAT THE STUDENTS SAY, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT WHAT OFSTED SAYS ABOUT THEM AT THE END OF THE YEAR. BULLYING DOESNT GET RESOLVED AND THEIR BEST EFFORTS TO PREVENT BULLYING IS TO MOVE SEATS. THEY DO NOTHING TO HELP THOSE WITH THERAPY (C.A.H.M.S) THEY FEED THEM WITH LIES TO MAKE THEM BELIEVE THE SCHOOL IS GREAT BUT ITS ACTUALLY THE EDUCATIONAL EQUIVALENT TO THE BEHIND OF A DONKEY. WOULDNT RECCOMEND TAKING YOUR CHILD HERE AS THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN OR THEIR SAFETY. “STUDENTS FIRST” MY ARSE.

MENTAL HEALTH

I left Outwood Academy Valley in 2019. Going there was the worst mistake of my life. All I was, was a normal lad going to a normal school to learn about normal things got eventually get a normal job. Attending this school caused me to sustain a life changing anxiety disorder. The pupils who attended this school were bullies and were nothing short of a complete waste of time. One person says something to you, or makes up a rumour or you do something a little dumb that most people would turn a blind eye for. That one person turns into a friend group, a classroom and then into the whole year. If you make one mistake the popular kids will make it their job to make sure you never forget what you either did, or what ‘rumours’ were said. I decided to opt to go to a College not far from Valley after i left to get away from every single person in that school. I left when i was 15 due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. I’m now nearly 18 years old and the Mental Health issues I developed in that school still haunt me to this very day. And it’s not just about that School. It’s caused me to suffer, chronic Anxiety Surges and Anxiety Attacks. The inability to get a job, as talking to people makes me have an Anxiety Attack, and simply has ruined my life. The teachers could not have been more un-approachable. And having the whole year half always saying something to you every single day when you walk in, you’d get even more stick if a member of SLT told them to stop. Get called weak, a pussy. Those kind of things. That place causes so much damage, and ever since leaving ive wanted to give advise to younger beings about teenage life and the do’s and dont’s. Now i’m an engineering student, lifeless and un motivated, caught up in my own thoughts every day and night. Outwood Academy Valley has ruined my life. My advise is to be aware of where you are sending your kids, and please, make them be with the right people.

The horrendous nature of Valley

In this school unless you are the beauty standard or can run fast in PE/good at sports nothing is done for you. They do little to help unless you force them too (with doctors notes etc) but if you don’t then they don’t believe it’s a problem. As well as this if you’re from anywhere other then England(eg Poland) even if you speak English youre very likely to get bullied. Even so, I was bullied for my entirety of year 11 after the whole year found out I was LGBTQ+, you may think did I report this? Yes yes I did. I reported it 3 TIMES. The first time they even knew who it was before I said names so they obviously knew it was happening but were doing nothing about it. At one point one person got me in a corner on my own after PE after the teacher left and threw a ball so hard at my face it left marks and I was sobbing. They didn’t even do anything about this either. Even besides all the things the school lets slide the school is toxic as a whole as it forces mountains if works on its students with little to no help unless forced, saying this is for “helping in the real world”. All this school cares about is the grades so it can show how “good” it is academically. It does not care about the students. After all this the meals at valley are so over priced and a lot of the time taste bad unless you get something as simple as chips. Making it hard for some to eat some days.

Inconsiderate

Did not help or even try to provide support for mental health, have been told to “deal with it” when panic attacks have occurred. They don’t care unless their reputation is at risk.

Absolutely horrible

Very harsh, very strict teachers. Teachers don’t communicate with each other so if your child has special needs, they dont seem to care. They only care about attendance and what Ofsted thinks of them. Bad school. Don’t handle bullying well either.

Maybe, but be ready

Most of the teachers are relatively kind and good at their job, however the school is overly strict about many things, especially uniform
