Parbold Douglas Church of England Academy

Honestly. Short of paying for a private school Parbold Douglas is the best if your lucky enough to be in the catchment area. All members of staff from the office, duggies, Ta's and teachers know all the children and are so welcoming every day. Nothing is too much troubl for any of the staff. I'd often forget a pack lunch or a P.E kit or would need to ring to ask about after school clubs. Lavinia (not sure I've spelt that correctly) was so nice and understanding, I never felt uncomfortable giving them a quick call ring or dropping something off. My son had the pleasure of having Mr Lawson for 2 years and he is honestly the best teacher I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He can engage the most challenging and stubborn of children. He cares not only for his pupils but also their family too when faced with tricky situations. Kindness and compassion ouzes out of the school through every member of staff. They are the best.

I can’t recommend this school high enough. The teachers are wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. From our experience, my child was very cared for by the teachers which results in a very happy child.

I do not recommend enrolling you kid in this school. Many of the staff are rude and disrespectful towards students but suck up to the parents, the food is terrible and has no nutritional value, and there is barely ANY after school activities. And to name another thing I’m dissatisfied with, they host a ‘star of the week’ every Friday for kids who have behaved well, but the teachers are very prejudice when it comes to choosing. My daughter, a very quiet and collected child , got placed with a teacher called ‘mr Lawson’ she was always shouted at for things that were not at all her fault and was just generally pushed to the side. At the end of the year, she came home crying, because she had not gotten star of the week, the WHOLE school year. This is absolutely disgusting. I don’t really know what to say. Apart from, do better and actually start caring for your students.
