Not good.

I do not like this school, it’s really bad they don’t take bullying seriously, they sent my child abbey manor for not attending a detention and proceeded to send her there against my wishes as I explained she shouldn’t go.

They also lie on your child to make it seem worse than it is, my advice for sending your child here is to make your child record every interaction with the teachers they talk to including the head teacher.

one of the worst schools

prendergast school is the worst school you could ever go to. Although I am in year 8 I have been experiencing bullying and when I go to report it the teachers do nothing about it. One teacher let a girl off because she couldn't think and let her do it for hw whereas for the others we had to finish since she would not let us do it for hw. This is unfair because many people try their best but the teachers do not care. This school Is also racist but not all teachers are bad some teachers are kind and strict but can help you with your work.

mid school

the school claims to be good except its still a uk school meaning its shit coz the education system is fucked up. they have a issues communicating between students parents and teachers. there are some lovely staff when it comes to mental health help and learning mentors however there is also a lot of teachers who dont want to listen to your problems and will gaslight u into thinking they will help then never help you. the safeguarding team improved over the last year however there are still issues w racism and transphobia amongst teachers and students and there is never serious action taken when there are racist students- the racist students get protected around the school rather than told to leave the school which they should bc any institution that allows racism is highly flawed.
the school also has ridiculous uniform rules that are outdated and when students asked the slt to consider looking over and loosening these rules they instead did nothing and made them stricter. the school is a “girls only school” despite there being many transmasculine and nonbinary students and there is a lack of bathrooms for those students to use. the teachers also are very ademant on referring to all students as girls when there are multiple trans students in the school who are NOT girls, this is an issue because its not hard to use a gender neutral term for the students seeing especially that the sixth form is mixed and the teachers have no problem w referring to them with neutral terms. the school likes to supress creativity and self expression a lot of the time and also doesnt listen to neurodivergent students a lot of the time. overall the school is mid. the dinner ladies are really nice and season the food well though so they get points for that

trash school tbh

to be honest, i’m a year 9 here and it’s such a bad school. in one of the classes a white language teacher said the n word and claimed she could say it due to having it being a past memory. honestly, it’s a bad school neither do i recommend joining.

The other reviews are not realistic

Prendergast is actually a brilliant school, academically outperforming other schools in the area and across the UK. I personally had many bad experiences in the younger years, but the school has massively improved since then, and is continuing to do so. Most teachers care about mental health, however there are always ways that things can be improved, even for the best of schools. If you need help, you can easily get it, and you will be cared for at each stage. I don't believe the other negative reviews really reflect the environment, as I have seen ALL the staff take an active stance to help improve the school and its approach to mental health. Brilliant learning environment.

For your own mental health, please don’t go

This school is awful, ruined my mental health, and wasn’t even cared for by teachers or even pastoral leaders. Im in year 11 and find myself helping younger years with their mental health more than teachers. DO NOT GO.

don’t go

made my mental health awful the teachers don’t listen to you and the students are also awful and don’t get discipline for bullying, are very strict for no reason and in general didn’t like it there
