Any SEN students please read....

If i could give a negative amount of stars i would, it is beyond shameful for any School, College or Training center that refuses a young person with a EHCP a place, no desire to at all, i mean offers zero support/help/advice to find a way to get enrolled in the College or at least sign posted somewhere else the lack of empathy and inclusion is shocking. Any young person who is enthusiastic and driven is brilliant anyone wanting to learn to get a career to make something of there lives is outstanding, when that young person faces difficulties (who attended his interview by himself) that has the desire to do something more and have doors slammed in there face is disgraceful, i shouldn't have to see my child, any child feel so bad or think less about themselves.

Any Young person or a Parent/Guardian of a Young person with a EHCP please consider any, if not all other options before Preston College. If it isn't illegal its immoral to treat anyone that need a little more help and support like that.

aero engineering

Depends on course

This is the best college for engineering in the area and the facilitate asmazing.

For a 2 year course and a set curriculum the tutors really do try and succeed in making the lesson fun, interesting and so that we get the most out of it.

Some tutors are better than other but I haven’t met a single tutor that isn’t enthusiastic or willing to help/ guide if your willing to put the effort in.

We’ve had little time on the aeroplane and work exsperiance seems like a unessary requirement but is great if you get it in the field.

Evey other course seems rubbish (outside of engineering) old buildings and chavs that don’t really wanna be there. The PNE people juts confuse me eveyone in the course isn’t gonna make it pro as they are shocking and unfit most of them but continue to play in a pointless league I don’t get it

Pre starting thoughts

I’ve not started yet I start in 4 days.

From looking around everyone college I land on this one because of the engineering. There was 3 options really

Newman was a nice clean college I loved the grounds I just didn’t like how spread out it was and that I may have to cross multiple roads to get to the canteen or somthing. They seemed to give of a very academic persona by only doing Alevels and trying to get there students to take more classes when really all they wanna do is push you off to university to get even more qualifications that don’t actually get you anywhere.

Runshaw was all in one wish I liked it was a little out of Preston which I wouldn’t mind if they had what I wanted. They seem to have there fingers in many pies and don’t really specialise in one thing. They do do engineering so I was kind of comparing runshaw and Preston.

When comparing the two Preston cane on top with everything. The facility’s and Preston are amazing compared to runshaw Preston’s in like a workshop while runshaw felt like school. I felt like Preston specialised in engineering a lot more as they have a big new building. Personally I don’t know why you would go anywhere else if you want to do engineer. They also have strands unlike runshaw. Preston has mechanical/automotive and they have loads of cars to work in that I didn’t see at runshaw. They also do aeronautical and have a light aircraft which just hooked me.

Preston’s collge staff were enthusiast And where trying to getting you hooked with there subject while I found the other college staff abit rude and annoyed by the fact I want to have fun with my taster day while Preston’s college were ok with people having fun and trying abit of everything and anything.

I haven’t actually started the college yet but this is the feeling I’ve got before I’ve started. I’ve emailed them multiple times and they’ve always answered quickly and helpfully. I personally have been given a start date and that hasn’t changed but my most of my friends have had there’s changed which is abit anoying.

I would like nicer grounds to walk about on my break (greenery wise) but that can’t be helped as it’s so close to city centre so can’t complain about convince getting there.

I’m excited but extremely nervous.
