An honest review of Redland green secondary school.

Where do I start with this place, Redland green secondary school has massivley let down me my family and friends way more then they will ever know. This school is carried by their 'outstanding' ofsted reports and very good student results in GCSEs, but whats the catch, redland green school is situated in a very affulent, white middle class area of bristol. The demographic of this area is extremly privalaged and that is ALL that this school caters to, students who are already in the top bracket and who are going to pass their final exams with a top grade. Anyone who does not fit into this catagory will struggle massivly and have been for far too long. This school is awful at providing help and support to students who are neuro divergent or struggle with learning disabilities. The school just doesn't care for these people as they know they will not deliver them a grade 7 or higher in their GCSE results. The senior members of staff in this school have shown me a huge lack of empathy and i would go as far to say they have bullied a number of students for years as it seems to be a running thing.Teachers in this school continue to belittle students making the environment a very unwelcoming place. There is next to no diversity in this school despite being located in Bristol, a very diverse, cultured and beautiful city. The racial inequality i have witnessed myself and heard from so many others is disgraceful and these issues are NEVER addressed correctly. This is from both teachers and students and i'm sure if this school remains the way it is this will continue. The arrogance and entitlement of many of the teachers in this school disgusts me, the language they use towards the youth of this city is never acceptable. Redland green school is not and has never been a welcoming place.
Something must change! If you are reading this and are thinking of sending your child to redland green school I suggest you rethink this option, your child is worth far more an a grade and their future does not rely on this. Education is very important dont get me wrong but your childs wellbeing must come before a pass in their GCSEs.

All about appearances..

Got bullied like hell. Claim they care about mental health and have a strict no bullying policy but they're really all about appearances. We had lessons on mental health and the teacher, *********, didn't even teach. He just sat there and told us to get on with it. Each kid was on a computer, all of them taking the.. mickey out of everything and each other; not the loveliest to hear as a struggling kid. I had kids make fun of self harm to my face whilst the teacher stood by and watched. Protected a kid who sexually harassed a girl, didn't offer any punishment. They even tried bribing me with a lunch ticket to come into school rather than offering me the valid support that I needed.

Highly recommend

The best school. One one the best when it comes to public schools. High achieving students is reflected by the teaching and support. Okay mental health support team. Relatively good extra support learning team but if you are in need of a better 1-to-1 it’s
not ideal. Children of all ability will thrive and is definitely reflected on by the grades. Not the most diverse but everyone is respectful so is not an issue. Fabulous facilities including sports hall, astro, science labs, and off site PE Centre. Really good offering of subjects and you have lots of choice in what you want to take. Overall would highly recommended. From a student
