A wonderful inclusive, supportive community school

Highly recommend this school. I have 3 children in Springwood Primary and they are all happy, healthy, supported and completely settled at Springwood.

Given the local area and community this school excels at keeping all children safe and supported through their learning experience.

The school is always looking for ways to improve and have recently refurbished numerous areas within.

The school offers great activities, from PE sessions at the local sporting university, after school clubs, pta events and my eldest has just completed swimming lessons (free of charge).

The area (Llanedeyrn) is not the best and has had a bit of a reputation for some time. However the staff at Springwood make every effort they can to make this a wonderful little school and my children are all thriving thanks to their care and support.

Good school, not perfect but nowhere is.

The teachers and staff are all friendly and welcoming. Usually have a breakfast club, after school clubs and summer club. They have an autism base and sensory room. A verity of differently abled children in the mainstream classes, with support.
They aren't always the best at spotting additional needs and helping with diagnosis, partly because they have so much in place to help children, regardless of diagnosis, so it's not always obvious that a child needs help.

I know a few parents who have been unhappy with their children in the school because they have needs but cannot get diagnosed here. This is not because the school is unaware of issues, but because the school supports each individual so indicators are not always apparent.

On the whole most parents are happy and more importantly most children are happy in the school. If they are not happy (and staff are made aware) then teachers have lots of different ways to help.
