St Andrew's Pre-School

My son went here when he was 2/3. As a new mum I really didn’t know what to expect but it felt very wrong when my well behaved little boy was marched out by the angry head who made her feelings bluntly clear in front of him about how ‘naughty’ he had been. She told me in front of my frightened child that they had had 3 ‘stand offs’ that day and that he had been in time out… no one had ever asked me if it was ok to put him in such a situation. Let’s bear in mind that even still now he is 5, I have never had 1 ‘stand off’ with him. He is a good boy who was treated badly by an angry lady who should not be in child care. It transpired by my conversations with him that he just didn’t want to put on ‘the dress’ as he called it for the Christmas concert. As it was lockdown, I was sent the Christmas nativity via video link and his beaten down expression throughout makes me sick to my stomach. He had clearly been made to feel very bad for not wearing a costume both in reversals and before the nativity. Only now he has been with kind teachers who care for kids and treat them as individuals and equals do I truly know that my instincts were right. It really doesn’t sound as bad as it was… this individuals attitude was threatening through and through. Don’t send your babies here.
