Horrifying school

Terrible school! Behaviour strategies are upsetting to witness- shouting etc students is the only way they deal with them. No passion for helping anyone succeed in later life and only focus on higher attaining students.

Atrocious lack of attention for bullying

They don’t pay attention to students well enough, especially when they get bullied. Quiet kids are normally the target in this thing but they don’t get helped unless something big happens.
They say they try their best to stop bullying but they’re a big liar.

St Bede’s

St Bede’s .

I went to this secondary school for 5 years I left a few years ago I was constantly singled out and realise now as a an adult women how unprofessional this school was in many aspects which me and another pupil are thinking of reporting about the discrimination we suffered racially . I was told I was going to end up in prison and that I couldn’t go to the Hull university trip because I wouldn’t end up going in the first place because of my “behaviour “ . I’m now doing my A levels and been offered a place at a top Russell group university despite St Bede’s giving me crap predicted grades isn’t funny how the teacher who said that to me I couldn’t go to uni did a media degree but ended up being a English teacher so she could kill children’s dreams just because she couldn’t live her dream she would constantly scream and acted in a unprofessional aggressive manor 😬 . The way I was talked down to will stay with me forever as I was called pathetic told I was going to go nowhere in life and that I was going to end up in prison me being excluded never even went on my uni application nor does it matter what I did at 12 years old I was mistreated and discriminated against no wonder. I was also singled out by a teacher called miss peachy who was a bully and I have no idea how she got away with how she spoke to me , if I had recorded it she wouldn’t be working in a school again . I have seen her since leaving school and she put her head down probably out of shame and guilt and couldn’t look me in the eyes .when I was in isolation we was not aloud to get our own food she had to go into our bags to bring it out . She would comment on what I had for lunch and my makeup and weight which actually led to me developing a eating disorder which made me loose a drastic amount of weight . Which the teachers then praised saying well done ? I never realised either how racist my secondary school was until I spoke to someone from my school how a history teacher said to a black student when she was late is it because you was getting water from a well ? This teacher still works there too ! So many racist comments was made and because I was young I didn’t realise the undertones . We all know what that meant it’s funny how I didn’t pick up on these sly racist comments as a child . I was discriminated against many times . This school killed my dreams and failed me in the predictions because of my “behaviour”. Luckily I managed to scrape onto my A level course and have had no issues at college . My teachers also pushed me to do a level 2 beauty course as believed I couldn’t make it. I now do A levels in subjects like law ? So undermined my intelligence big time. I’ve now modelled for big brands such as ASOS and been offered a role on a BBC drama this year despite my drama teacher Failing me ! 🥳 my life is looking up so thank-you for killing my dreams as a young teenager because as a adult it’s only made me a stronger women . I’m sure the teachers reading this will know exactly who I am . I will never be coming back to this school and also hope they don’t use me as a alumni for acting or modelling as I will be publicly saying the school DID NOTHING I did it myself . I failed GCSE drama despite not sitting it 🤔 because they didn’t believe in me when he could of easily given me a pass as most people in my year because of Covid was give . Despite this I was also offered a place at a good drama conservatoire but would rather do my practical subject at a Russell group 😄 so funny how I did so well for myself despite being told I was nothing. I’m just hoping no one else has to suffer like I did . I also want to add there was teachers who was physically attacked by students there . He left . A student teacher who messaged a pupil which I was put in isolation for for speaking out about . A teacher who threw a pen at a student . Smoking problems on the field? Constant fights and violence to say it was a catholic school . This school actually made me believe catholics were evil because of the way I was treated

Don’t send your kids to this school

They do absolutely nothing if you have mental health issues and are struggling, there is lots of bullying that takes place which doesn’t get dealt with at all, the teachers are rude and single kids out to make fun of them in their spare time. They care more about their schools presentation such as students uniform then they do anything else. Please please please do not send your kids to this school they will just end up dropping out because of how bad it is. Also they are rubbish when it gets to the end of year 11, no help whatsoever trying to get into college, they don’t tell you a thing about how to get a job and basic things everyone needs to know when they’re entering adulthood.

Not very good

Not the best. Single quite a few people out and don’t work to improve issues raised. Don’t co-operate with students that have difficulties learning or accessing learning at home. Always complain about the small amounts of work not done as never praise the mass of work that is done. Not a very diverse school. Don’t offer a variety of education in the religious studies. Mainly Judaism and Christianity. Also ignore students that complain about bullying and never listen when students are raising concerns. Haven’t really helped me to develop and are quite dismissive of helping students to do so.

Decent but not great

Bullying doesn’t get sorted most teachers are nice but some are very strict and ruin your day when you’ve been in a good mood all day

Send your cif you want them bullied severely

Honestly such a joke, no diversity and there is ongoing racism especially from teachers to students directly. No clue how to handle bullying or mental health. They tell you it’s just a phase and everyone goes through it when it’s not. Very dismissive of anxiety and depression, no confidentiality between teachers and lack of understanding

Loved it here!

I thoroughly enjoy my time going here, most people are nice, staff is helpful, lots of resources and things to do, and they handle bullying better than any other school i went to. Even if you're not Catholic, this school is still good as they do not force religious activity on you and other religions are also allowed to be practiced. I definitely recommend this for everyone!
