Needs to be better

Hello, a former student here! During my time at St Johns, I felt extremely uncomfortable. Teachers often singled me out, making me feel overweight and unintelligent. I recall an incident where I couldn't fit into a pair of shorts they lent me, and the teacher attempted to put one of her legs through the hole, proclaiming, "Look, even I can fit in it!" in front of the whole class. This left me feeling immensely embarrassed. At 10, I was slightly larger, but nothing excessive.

Additionally, I have dyslexia and dyscalculia, which made learning maths and English a struggle in my early years. Teachers would make me cry when I couldn't complete my work, isolating me in a corner while the rest of the class enjoyed a movie. I was never taught fundamental grammar rules, such as the use of commas, and I lacked instruction on methods like the bus method. Instead, I was given overly simplistic maths tasks, hindering my ability to keep up with my peers.

These challenges have continued into my secondary school years. I now find it difficult to use commas and full stops correctly, and basic maths tasks that "should have been taught in primary" present ongoing challenges. It's a combination of both my current and primary schools not providing the necessary support. I feel the proper help I needed was lacking.
