Rules? What rules? Safeguarding fail.

My daughter attends the school and, whilst she is happy and is making good progress, we are horrified at how the young people and their parents disrespect the school’s uniform code. This is a Co-Ed Catholic school yet the girls roll/shorten their skirts to - often - just under their bums. They do this in school - in full view of the teaching staff - despite the school sending (weak) missives in their quarterly newsletter asking them not to do it. This is not a matter of being a prude but a real safeguarding fail on the school’s behalf and come that is tarnishing its reputation locally. Also, there an increasing number of young women in Year 10 and 11 wearing very obvious make-up to school. Pressure is heavily placed on girls who do not roll their skirts by peers to do so. This is now happening with make-up. I raised this issue with my child’s form tutor last year and never got a firm reply. They clearly have a discipline problem at the school. An aforementioned lack of respect for the school, their peers and themselves too.
