St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School

Our experience of St Thomas of Canterbury was ultimately very disappointing, and we decided that it was no longer the right school for our family. The biggest issue was how concerns raised by parents were handled. We often felt that communication was difficult and that concerns were not taken seriously enough. When something affected our child, we expected an open, constructive conversation, but instead we often felt that we had to push repeatedly just to be heard. There was also, in our experience, a significant difference between the school’s public image and our experience as parents. The school presents itself as a close, caring community, but this was not how we always experienced it. Ultimately, it was the lack of trust, communication and confidence that led us to leave. I would strongly recommend prospective parents speak to current and former parents and look beyond the school’s public image before making their decision.
