Stoke Mandeville Combined School

My time at Stoke Mandeville combined school was both challenging and rewarding. I was often told off for losing focus, which I now realize was due to undiagnosed ADHD. Despite this, I formed lifelong friendships and benefited from a supportive student community. The teaching quality was mixed—some teachers were inspiring, while others could have been more understanding. Astonishing lack of care on occasion. An inflexible and rigid approach instilled by senior leadership, which saps energy and creativity for both staff and students. Some staff are incredibly caring, and genuinely want to help. SEND support and provision is woefully inadequate, and unlikely to change.

Some fantastic and dedicated teachers, sadly let down by the senior staffs desire to hide the serious issues within the school which far outweighs any interest in childrens safety or wellbeing. Children threatening others with knives, children being molested by others, physical and verbal bullying and racism are all rife. If a parent tries to report it, they themselves are bullied by the school who also encourages parents of offending children to do the same. This school should be investigated but of course it’s all swept under the carpet and kept hushed by all involved. Horrific experience and I would urge anyone to think twice about sending their child here.
