Stoke Newington when I went was attroucious back in 16 when Annie gammon was headteacher the school was quite pro leftist and as someone who comes from an Islamic household other schools lgbt beliefs where forced upon us. We had to do things which contradicted our faith, for example, Muslim and Jewish students were forced to take part in a pride parade holding pride flags which contradicts our views. This is not a homophobic rant we live in United Kingdom which has different views and we are don’t discriminate however, the school was not inclusive of other faiths and disregarded them. The similitude of this is the same as making a pet dog eat vegetables because the owner is vegan.
Furthermore, The school also got drag queen artists who wore bondage gear to give talks in the school rather than academic professionals on the importance of education.
Finally, behaviour in this school was absolutely abysmal I didn’t feel safe in the classroom there was always fights, drug abuse and much more in the classroom.
I went there for a school viewing as this school could of been my new school. That took a turn. Immediately when I got in they never gave me a viewing around the school so see the atmosphere. When a child comes to ur school to view it give them a tour to see the atmosphere and everything!!!
This school is generally really bad, The teachers pick and choose when they feel like stopping the bullying going on and whenever they choose to intervene it’s usually the white kids. The food is practically inedible (My friends have found a nail, hairs and mould in our food and is generally unhealthy) and the filth in some of the classrooms is disgusting. For example the PE Halls, They expect us to take our shoes off in y7-y8 however when you do you step on sticky stuff, dirt etc. Also the way this school defends the people who have said racial slurs and have hate crimed others is crazy. Sending your child here is practically setting them up for bad mental health and perhaps getting bullied.
as a whole I do like the school. there are things that could be fixed like how often the toilet doors are broken and some of sinks don't work. I do feel like they need to deal with bullying more as nothing really ever gets done but honestly I do like the school.
Half of the doors in the girls toilets are broken and they’re been like that for ages, I don’t think the teachers even know.
I have some really good teachers tho, so can’t complain.
There’s always a chunk of spaghetti that is stuck together, the carbohydrate foods like pasta and rice are overcooked sometimes and the potatoes and wedges are undercooked, the chicken has hair on them and the chips are dry and get stuck in your throat, and it’s annoying but inevitable for school food I guess..... but a meal Is £2.10 and in no way has it ever been worth it
The orchestra is really fun and we have a great conductor so cool 😎
We need more places to sit down at lunch since all we can do is stand outside with our recyclable plates so someone pls fix that
Personally I think I’m a great help to my schools mental health because I’m nice to everyone but I guess the teachers help so yeah
