Taunton School

My son was at boarding at this school at 2025 and we are deeply disappointed, the child was traumatized, the boarding person behavior with children is unacceptable and rude, children dont want to return to school after vacation. At school are constant fights between children, all belonging mysteriously disappearing all the time, the stuff are very rude and unfair, but the worst is director of the school, who after knowing the situation did nothing to improve the situation, was interested just to steal money for semester the child didnt even return, instead of apologize. Terrible school, terrible experience. Be careful because for out big money they just traumatize our children. Many children left as we after few months, but still school made no efforts to fix their behavior.

Old school boys club . The school runs off of Bias, favouritism and who knows who . Bullying is NOT taken seriously EVER , nor is harassment. Senior member of staff abuse their positions. The whole systems of girls and boys houses influences bad behaviour and not suitable for our current world. Poor mental health care.

I really don’t recommend going to that school, the teaching is not good at all, there is activity always nothing fun like cleaning up the common room or clean the hall, you are not allowed out only Saturday or Sunday, no phone at night and not allowed to play game or watch videos during the week and the teacher tracks what you view, the food is shit and the teacher force you to eat it, the boarding house is so small the toilet have shit on it all the time and the shower have cold water all the time. They treat you like a 10 year old not allowed out during the week and hand in your phone at 9 although the wifi is already turned off at 9.30. There is lots of people that takes drugs and cigarettes the teacher doesn’t care they care about if you have a second phone or you wear your keycard or no I told my friends I go to Taunton school My friend say you sure it’s a school, from what you said I think it’s a prison no?

A safe haven for bullies and rape culture. Staff ignore allegations under ‘boys will be boys’ mentality despite the very high number of girls reporting sexual harassment or abuse. Just recently- a teacher was sacked for having a sexual relationship with a student. It is much, much more common than the school would like to say as most allegations are ‘brushed under the rug’ to preserve the schools name. Students are taught to despise and mock State schools. Class sizes are much larger than they like to boast, the infrastructure is shoddy and the classrooms/ house rooms are filthy and have mould. Allows boarding students to live in rooms riddled with asbestos, ignores the fact that international students get racially abused and forces all students to attend chapel- regardless of their personal beliefs or faith. Homophobia is rife and sex education focuses only on heteronormativity and patriarchal ideas. Girls are forced to wear an uncomfortable uniform with no option of trousers. The summer uniform is sheer and students are criticised for their bra straps showing by male members of staff.
