I feel like the staff don't take bullying as seriously as much as they say they do. They also have bad teachers that shout at people for no reason and don't crack down on bad behavioured students. Half the teachers disappear for ages replaced with horrible substitutes. It is a toxic environment and the punishments for bad children aren't good enough. Yeah, 5 half-hour detentions, and that doesn't do anything to make their behaviour better. I myself got behaviour points for telling a kid to put their phone away and they didn't even get in trouble. Terrible

The school was a total s***t missed my dyslexia . Snob teachers. Interested in their own kids and no one else's. I'd drown my children than send them their. .

Overall I’d say that around half of the teachers at that school are bullies especially the senior leadership team who have a god complex- don’t you dare make one mistake or they’ll have to “detain” you!!! Over the last couple years I have actively done everything I can to avoid them, from going the opposite direction to not even leaving the classroom to go to the toilet if I see one near by. Having children fear you to such an extent is not a good thing.

Teaching:
English and maths department are surprisingly good though, mostly empathetic teachers (as far as I’ve had). Most of the science teachers are pretty good too, can be a bit strict in terms of homework and talking during lessons but they get straight to the point and teach well. Option teachers are a hit or miss really, the ones that teach level 2 btecs are some of the kindest people I’ve met at that school. They don’t make you feel bad about yourself unlike some others… Teaching assistants are amazing though, I would not of survived some lessons without them, usually because the main teachers would just make me feel stupid.

Food:
-Sausage rolls and waffles are the only thing I’ve bought for the past year icl because whenever I use to buy pasta pots it was drowned in pasta water and sauce… Good range of drinks though, would be nice if the apple juice cartons weren’t 50% water though. There’s a reason it’s called juice, not flavoured water. Chips are absolutely delicious, can’t say the same about the fish though.

Facilities:
I won’t lie they are disgusting. Removed doors from most of the toilet entrances so we have a complete lack of privacy. It’s shocking. Classrooms are too hot in summer, how are we expected to listen to teachers the whole day while we are over here trying not to pass out from a heat stroke.

I have to say though the only reason I’ve excelled in some of my subjects is purely because of the hours I spent learning all the content at home due to the teachers explaining it badly or rushing. For example maths, although the teachers are good I learnt more from YouTube in an hour. From people I have spoke to and including myself, most of them think the mental health support is atrocious. And they’re not wrong. Unless your someone who is exceptionally good at sports and ass lick all the teachers you are not welcome because the truth is (unlike the schools motto) we are NOT all friends at the boswells school. My mental health has deteriorated over the years because of that place and if I could go back in time I would of gone to another school maybe St John Payne.

It’s abs average secondary school what can I say but there not very good with mental health and behaviour like say if you got in a fight with someone they are good at hearing both sides of the story but you kinda both get punished in then end

absolutely horrible school. i finished this summer and honestly probably one of the worst schools to exist.
they pretend to care about bullying but then teachers do nothing when students are being bullied and called slurs right in front of them.
also the few times they actually even bother to sort out bullying they do it in the worst way possible which just leads to more bullying.
sometimes the teachers were even worst then the students. i’ve seen teachers straight up bully students because they couldn’t get an answer right or something ridiculous like that.
nearly all their teaching methods are terrible and just do not work.
they act like they care about individuality but then have such a harsh dress code (included in sixth form).
they have such incredibly high expectations of students, which would be fine if they helped the students to reach those goals. but no they get angry when people can’t hit those high marks without even thinking oh maybe we need to teach them to get them to get high marks.
also they preach mental health awareness (even thought when they do assembles on it the information is so bad) and mental health matters but then get angry at students for having panic attacks and basically having any mental health issues.
i do not recommend this school to anyone trust me it will be better for you if you don’t.

watch the fake promo video and you’ll realise why my rating is so low... but seriously if you’re thinking about going here, don’t. if you live in the springfield area, go to beaulieu. i could write a book about the problems i’ve had at that school.

the teaching is okay, but they expect too much. way too much. it’s almost like they want to be a grammar school, and with those sixth form requirements? yeah might as well go somewhere you’ll enjoy than be forced to wear office attire everyday. you have to get a load of good grades just to study a small amount of subjects.

they preach individuality but the second someone dyes there hair, cuts it, or does anything to be an individual the school cracks down hard. i know that in the year above who was bullied so much about wearing ankle socks (yes ankle socks) by the school that they just stopped going and started homeschooling. how is that encouraging to “reach your highest potential?”
