if your a parent and your reading this and you have a child going into year 7 soon do not send to bulwell academy school all that will happen to them they will feel like there living in hell they won’t feel safe the teacher are not caring all they care about is getting too lesson and doing your work there’s no support for the kids you can’t talk to any of them about anything some of the teachers and even define you by your race and some of them don’t even know how too teach properly there’s no fun in that school it’s just going to give you stress and anxiety that school will really change you a lot of school kids croud around people when other people are fighting because they find it as entertainment and don’t get me wrong im pretty sure everyone did that as a kid school but when you croud around don’t get too excited and jumping around because if your at the front watching and your on cctv your suspended then the ones that arnt on cctv don’t get suspended just if you’re thinking about sending a kid too this school think twice
Atrocious
Absolutely atrocious! Some student decided to buy an overpriced “BBQ chicken wing” and it was basically still alive!!! Its insides were completely red so the student decided to take a picture and a teacher had the nerve to tell them “delete the picture” Luckily they didn’t. Also apparently some male teacher walked into the girls toilets and banged on the door to tell the young lady to get out although she was on her period. This is getting out of hand and I’m not surprised if the school shuts down.
There is no way they don't know about this teacher
I missed 3 weeks of education because of this. In year 7 I started getting followed around by year 10s and it didn't seem too much of a problem until they started talking to me. My sister did something in an assembly and they came up to me to talk about it, I told them I didn't want to and they had a go and followed me for it, I got away. This sort of thing continued for about 2 weeks and I'd finally had enough, even after writing a statement on it this problem had not been solved, so I came out of school and even thought about home schooling, my parents helped me with this and we'd get visits from school often to ask why i was off, and every time my mum had the same answer - you aren't doing anything to help with the bullying situation - around 3 weeks later a lady came to the house to speak to me and my mum about trying to get me back into school (I respect that), my mum was fine with it because i was fine with it, i sat in re-entry for a whole term i think, it was fine, but those year 10s started to come into that room more than once and i started to refuse to come in if i saw them. I mentioned this to my parents, and they were appalled, absolutely no communication whatsoever between staff in the school. This problem was finally resolved after a teacher (who is no longer working here) said if they were to carry on they would get expelled when I went to a meeting with my mum about it. Now in year 8 I've heard multiple people talking about an English teacher - who I cannot say clearly because I think this will get taken down. But they have done something Infront of a whole classroom, been reported and have had a meeting but still HAS NOT HAVE BEEN SACKED SOMEHOW? Now I don't have this teacher, but some of my friends do and when I say this girl is TERRIFIED of going into his lessons I mean she hates it and at one point went to re-entry instead, because of his behaviour around people. And these may be rumors but apparently he has swore in lessons and said some things that shouldn't be said, especially not in a classroom. I'm not saying he is a creep. But.. I'm not saying he isn't. You have student voice for a reason, especially if people have brought it up, SORT IT OUT! If they haven't then they haven't but he has been reported by students so why not twig on buddy? 👀 (Also I get that they can't do too much about bullying and that but they could atleast support and keep an eye on people being bullied)
Aside from 2 bad things in this school, most teachers are decent (other than the one i was talking about earlier) and you can actually get along with them, they're friendly and funny most of the time, but they are serious about their jobs, music teachers are amazing, maths are okay most of the time, teachers in general can basically be your bestfriends at this point.
Teachers are cool you can have a laugh with them, but when it's important they are serious, new head is actually a funny guy (respect lol)
I would say this school is improving everynow and then, teachers try really hard to make things better at school, they make it worth being there. :D

The rules in this school are atrocious
Atrocious school , strict rules , they don’t deal with students problems in any way .. send students home for stupid reasons !! Students are not allowed to go to the toilet in lesson time at any point , they also consider asking to go to the toilet inappropriate and they exclude them for 5 days if they ask why or any further questions ! They do not have any respect for students and they discriminate people . Do not send your kids here .

This school is a joke.They sent me to reset for answering a question.Pray to god if you are sending your children here.
Stay Clear of this School
Terrible communication amongst staff aswell as parent teacher communication. Duty of care towards students is none existent. Absolutely awful new head teacher. Miss conduct of child restraint.

Y11 leaver’s day demolished
Absolutely enraged and disappointed after today. One of the worst principles The Bulwell Academy has ever had. Completely abuses the power they have as a principal and it’s honestly a terror that they are is leading the school with such a cold heart. Any enquires you have do not even bother approaching them, you will be gas lighted as a threat, which is so hurtful as i was described as ‘intimidating’ for questioning them on the decision of not allowing the damaged year 11s a leavers day to celebrate 5 long, inconsistent but successful years at The Bulwell Academy. Astonishes me that i’m seen as a threat for debating as to why the y11s should have a leavers day. So selfish and misunderstanding which is dreadful from somebody so high up in the education system. I feel honestly belittled and feel as if my say doesn’t matter in The Bulwell Academy. Hopefully this isn’t streamed towards the up and coming year groups under their management.
Year 11
Year 11s are not aloud to do a proper leavers due to the new headteacher saying they have a prom.Which makes no sense due to not every student and child is going to the prom.

Got a message today my daughter been sent reset and an hour after school for wearing clear studs what you get your ears pierced with witch my kids have always wore since they was a baby and today got told to take her earrings out and she refused because one of the teachers told her they’re there the right one and by another teacher gets reset absolutely shocking wonder why children have an attitude to teachers it’s a joke.

all the teachers deal with anything in a very good way the behaviour system is very well done and the overall school is just such a good place where you know that your child will be safe, if any future parents would want to send there children to this school I think you would not regret it it’s a high quality, well done school sending my child here gave me no problems and I will be sending my other child to this school too!

Atrocious school, inaffective and harsh rules as well as restricting all behaviours from student, including positive ones. So negligent to student's mental health's and handles disruption inappropriately. Rape culture is represented in the school uniform, with knee high socks not being allowed as they are sexualised. This school is disgusting.

Dont deal with bullys the way they should even tho they have an anti bullying policy they sometimes praise bad behaviour and punish the students who are upset about issues in the school . Not the best school to send a kid to ..
