The Camden School for Girls

When a school tries to convince the mid achieving students to ditch a language in favour of a health and beauty course, without the knowledge of parents I might add, by using cheap tricks like 'less work' and 'no homework' as a tantalisingly tasty looking dangly carrot, you know that encouraging kids and bringing out their full potential is not as high on the agenda as the proudly stated vision and mission statements on the website would have you believe. This is what I want for my child; encouragement rather than discouragement, however I don't know how you may feel. OFSTED dictates the behaviour I guess. However, now that the school has been downgraded by OFSTED and that exam results are not seen as the 'be all and end all' anymore, maybe we'll see a paradigm shift. However, I can't see that coming soon. Communication is awful and very one sided, even the weekly news emails are littered with blatant typos and grammar errors. Teaching my kid English are you? Okay then. Parents are not treated as peers, the children are not coached, mentored or given the tools to flourish, unless of course they are transparently at the top of the grade, and their founder would be ashamed at some of the practices, like the one mentioned earlier, that go on here as it flies in the face of all that the school stood or professes to stand for. I'm sure that if your kid is a high flying grade machine then they will get on just fine, however if they are a mid-grader with potential, then they will suffer. I could go on, however I want some chance at this review being published. A disgrace.

Not great facilities !! Some teachers are extremely harsh but some are nice.
