Downfall of CCC

I joined this school a couple years ago and it has been one of the worst experiences of my life you can smell the toilets even outside of the restroom and the teachers don’t care about education. Lots of bullying going on and I am forever sorry for who ever decides to join this school. This school is a complete disaster do not send your kids here. Please.

this school is rubbish. as a student here i am happy to be leaving as there are a lot of misbehaving students which make learning harder than it should be. the condition of this school is really poor and there is a lot of rubbish all around the place (and mounds of chewed gum stuck under the tables).

this school is not good not good at all for a student who has been in the school for over 4 years now and i am a gay male who is always getting picked on this class and in my free time this school needs to get a grip and start doing things that is actually good for the school
the food be kind of good though I don't mind that good grub, but other than that i would not advise you to take your children to go to this piece of shit school only if you want them to fail and get harassed 😁😜😜😜

My overall Chalfonts Reveiw.

There is a problem with homework, as the children are not getting enough although they probably enjoy this, the children not in are missing a huge amount of education. The Teachers at this school can be amazing but might not explain to the children the work specifically well. I could state more but this school is very good for some lessons and there are some fabulous teachers.

why the school was so bad? get rid of staff who are the bullies

My experience at chalfonts was frankly a nightmare. I am telling you do not bring your son or daughter to this school! i do not now trust some of the staff knowing they were were extremely rude and could not care less how to deal with special needs students i was bullied over a million times by the same disruptive staff and students its not fair and that even if their is a rule book saying staff can do what they want but i am crystal clear they cannot rule that student demand work and refuse them to print at home without any reason to be fair that school had some head a few years ago control the class and staff but since they left it was poor and bulling has been a problem also getting out of the school was a nightmare students pushing or lazy staff not doing much to help students get home safely .i do agree the curry was good but got to expensive ,some staff should be ashamed of themselves bulling students and just because they are older does not mean they can refuse students to classrooms without good reasons y11 was awful students were forgotten and they sent nothing during lockdown which was painful for good students to do anything outside their control the fact is the GCSE may be hard but it should not be teachers blocking students from exams or letting them in to rooms for extra time sack the senco and her department for unpleasant behaviour rudeness and threats they either need to get permission by the students or people responsible making stupid reasons or threats is not the right way to sort out a problem as i was the pick of bullied and the staff saw this and carried on the torture and mean things i hated hated HATED this school if i did not have disruptions or staff making poor courses then i would have not written this college is better to control then a secondary school becoming a problematic place its time to close CCC for good to the course not them making the decision without giving a warning i am fed up with them play acting making some big deal of something to make that person react even if they work had gladly i left this awful big school unless it improves in fairness and controls its staff then it should close down for good and i have seen lots of teachers swearing and refusing students into lessons the behaviour was poor and it was boring having to clarify problems that did not need to happen the issue of the school is discipline and sorting out who is a clown and who is making a meal of a problem some of the teachers need to show some respect to those who wanted to learn not be trapped in a classroom i do not care if the school is rated good by ofsted GCSE in 2020 were not done properly and this was a huge problem trying to make 250 plus students understand the system because exams were taken, it was shocking how year 11 were treated being forgotten for 6 months during lockdown then the poor communication about predicted grades and lack of support meant it was hard to put into words how i felt at the school i was not impressed with the predicted grades confusion and lack of effort from some teachers for key subjects like maths and English to at least have a plan B or C to support y11s in lockdown with tasks that could help them when november exams were possible i feel let down by this school lack of leadership and lack of awareness of understanding Send students and their needs being shouted at constantly was not fair and being bullied and teased is not good some teachers were nice and i felt for some of them who could not do things which were out of their control. it was indeed a rather harsh lesson to understand knowing the true nature of coming here was the wrong school i hope it shuts down for good unless they can learn from being an unhelpful school also they did not seem to sort bullying as well as they could or support anyone who was hurt and teachers upsetting them or staff being rude or making the problem worse its not good enough 100% this school needs better staff and not staff who look like they waiting for those to upset and to teas or to stop from going to class rooms or block them from behaviour needs to improve.

Don't- just don't.

I went to this school from years 7-11 and i just want to warn you that if you want your child to get a good education DO NOT send them here.
The teaching is 20/80, there are some amazing teachers and some terrible teachers, and when i say terrible i mean terrible- one of my science teachers used to switch his hearing aid off when he didn't want to listen to us or he would take calls through it in the middle of the lesson, another would spend all lesson putting on youtube videos while explaining nothing to us, causing us all to do horrendously in our exams for that subject. There are so many more examples of teachers just being genuinely abysmal that it would take a whole essay to fill.
I urge you do not send your child to this school.
Learning support is the only good thing about this poor excuse for a school. The pastoral team are all right too. But thats it.
I could name you maybe 5 out of 20 teachers that can actually control the classroom- you've got swearing, bullying, phone usage, throwing glue and sometimes even chairs just happening in the class and the teachers couldn't care to do anything about it. I genuinely believe this school has ruined my education and if you send your child here it may well do the same for them.
My brother used to go here- he was in year 7/8 and got so horrendously bullied that he couldn't cope anymore, by year 9 he had moved schools since he would come home crying everyday and guess what the school did? nothing!!! utterly appalling. They have ruined me and my brother.

I hate that I have to go back to this school

I’m currently still a student at the school and I hate it here.
(For context to this I. Gay a teenage girl and have autism)
Bullying is rife teachers see it and all they do is give you a card that lets you go out side when your upset for five minutes.
I’ve had teachers call kids useless and that they should still be in primary school,
Teacher quit halfway through a year just because they can’t take it anymore, your not allowed to go to the toilet in lesson even if you have a medical reason.
The police come to the school every so often not for assembly’s no but to talk, to a students who got into fights.
The nice teachers are the wons who have given up mostly and are bulled by not only staff but students.
The medical lady not only dismisse people, who feel I’ll and or are about to pass out, she vomits a health and safety violation and has a dog in the office with her….I’m not kidding. And it’s not an ESA dog ether it’s her personal pet.homiphobia is every we’re with a so called ‘gay ally’ that people are terrified to even step on.
The school has some Ukrainian students now, and an ENGLISH teacher got mad at them for not knowing/not being able to read the language….yes mad at students in a country they don’t know with a language they can’t understand…
This is we’re I will leave it but don’t send your kid to this school please.

Just didn't add up.

When my time began here, I was astounded by the lack of goodness.

The school nurse might as well be the school hearse since she does more harm than good. Her only medicine is verbal abuse!

Utter disgrace.

this school is terrible. most of the lessons were a waste of time as teachers weren’t bothered to teach and could not control the classroom due to noise levels. sub teachers weren’t helpful. around 90% of students did not care about distracting others, who did want to learn, and throwing things around the classroom. the toilets were like shisha lounges, all you can smell was vapes. girls would shove their bags in the sinks so you could not wash your hands!! the unisex toilets should have not been made as there are hormonal teenagers. every washroom in the school is for a certain year group, but nobody follows that.
the school has let me down and i feel so relieved to be out of there.
please do not send your child here if they want to have a great education

To parents of future Year 7's - avoid this school!!

My child has been utterly failed by CCC and I am devastated. It is too large and understaffed and they cannot get a grip on behaviour. I've witnessed children swearing at teachers with no follow up whatsoever, there appears to be no respect for the uniform or the rules. Some of the girls come in with so much make up on and their skirts barely covering their dignity, yet nothing is said, boys are in hoodies or sweatshirts and again nothing is said. A few months back an email was sent about adherence to uniform policy and how they were doubling down on it, I see no difference whatsoever. For me adherence to uniform is a given, if the children/parents can't follow that it shows an utter lack of respect for the leadership of the school. The quality of the teaching is very hit and miss, my child has been sworn at and treated appalling by teachers. Many children including my own are really struggling after the last few years of covid and I am fed up of hearing about plans for the future and things that will happen and nothing happening. This is our children's education and their mental health and it is now urgent. The school needs an urgent OFSTED inspection, as I see it it should be "in special measures". I feel sorry for those great teachers within the school as it must be quite soul destroying to hear such negative comments and have limited ability to change anything outside of their control.

Terrible

I am currently in year nine and I wish I was anywhere else. The teachers couldn’t care less about our education, they are sexist AND homophobic. I have gotten food poisoning from the curry twice and the pizza is soggy and gross. The year nine toilets are A) unisex which is so wrong in a school full of hormonal teenager and B) do not have adequate period friendly bins or products. I have been struggling with my mental health since I joined the school in 2019 and have been open about it with my teachers. I am only just getting counselling and although it is helping slightly, it is no where near as good and helpful as other schools. Teachers never seem to notice bullying and when they do or it’s reported they do jack-shit about it. Both me and my mother believe that this is a TERRIBLE school and no child deserves to be sent here. Send your child here if you want your child to suffer.

Needs a lot of improvement

Terrible during Covid - lots of other schools in the area switched quite quickly to online learning. For some reason CCC teachers couldn’t get their heads around it and it was Sept until even just the core subjects were online and even then it was sketchy.

The old head left in July and it was quite a shock and now there’s a new one although you wouldn’t know it because you never see her. I know some teachers left or were fired during and since Covid so maybe change for the better is already happening but I would like to see a more professional display by teachers including how they present themselves as some look like they've been dragged through a hedge backwards - they should be setting an example. There's such a culture of 'don't join in' rather than 'give it a go' at the school too and I think the teachers need to work harder at explaining the benefits of joining clubs and be more interested in putting clubs and opportunities on for the kids.

Then there’s the half day which has been going on for so much longer than was communicated - we go back to full time in September but why has it taken that long and I don’t think any other local schools took that approach.

Currently the school fails on many counts: academically, with behaviour which is horrendous - the teaching staff and pastoral leads seem unable and are certainly not confident to deal with disruptive behaviour - lessons focus much more on controlling the class than teaching the subjects.

I think that if the school demanded higher expectations of its teachers the pupils would follow. I know some of the grammar schools manage to pay their teachers more because they have been clever with the funding and grants but CCc could find out how to do that too plus it has more pupils probably with learning support needs so surely they get more government money?

It would be good for the school to be inspected so that they can know what they need to do to make an outstanding school.

And PS totally agree with the previous review about the school nurse. She’s given meds out incorrectly before and comes across nice on the phone to parents but she couldn’t care less about the pupils and thinks they are all just trying to get out of lessons. Zero empathy.

do not send your child to this school

i know this looks very long, but it is worth reading it. ccc is a horrible school. most of the teachers are not bothered to teach. there are a lot of supply teachers in that school, who cannot teach the lesson properly. most of the time, students think they can do whatever they want. the school nurse is vulgar, one time i was about to faint and went to the medical room. when i got there, the nurse asked me how am i feeling. after i explained to her how i felt, she responded “ok, what should i do about it?” but in a careless way. why should she be disrespectful? another time during a lesson, i went to her again and when i was waiting in the room, someone was calling her on the phone and she said “i am in a room full of kids”, but it was literally just my friend and i. when my friend left, the nurse said to me that i should of saw her at break/lunch, but why would i see her at break/lunch when i was completely fine then? it does not make sense, it is your job to look after students when they are unwell at anytime. most of the pupils there are unfriendly. the misbehaved pupils will pick on someone because they think it is amusing, but why do you think it’s so funny to pick on someone while they are trying to concentrate or doing their work?
most of the time, teachers do not do anything about it. teachers sometimes stop their lessons because they have to send a student out of the classroom and send an email to ier/parents. why can’t they do it when everyone else is working in the classroom?
i hope i get out of this school asap and hopefully it will shut down.

Review

My experience as a student in CCC has been appalling. The reason why i am saying this is because i have seen students experience racism, body shaming and made fun of their appearance. Some teachers are okay, but there are a lot of supply teachers, who do not teach the lesson the way they ought to so it is a waste of a lesson. Some teachers swear at the class through frustration at the disruptive kids!

Ofsted needs to inspect this school!

This school should be inspected by Ofsted. They failed my child right from the start. They had inflated my child's grades in year 7. I challenged this with clear evidence. They made excuses.
They put up barriers that prevent extra support. Bullying is rife and their strategies do not help. Inappropriate behaviour from certain teachers; not providing appropriate help & support generally a lack of care from them. They lack management in the classrooms so it's like the wild wild west (I've seen video footage!) No child can learn in this environment.
A lack of care from the staff when a child is in crisis. They do not take mental health seriously enough.
Overall, this school is appalling and I am glad my child is no longer in that hell hole.
Additionally, my child's former tutor is astounded that so many children from CCC are struggling and are at very low education levels. Why isn't this being picked up?
It does not deserve one star.

No respect is shown towards students

Most of the teachers are awful and clearly their work as a teacher has not been assessed, if being late to school even if in no way its the students fault they will still be punished for it only resulting in the students not wanting to come to school. The students are treated with such little respect just because the teachers are adults they think that they have the authority to treat the students with no respect. The amount of jewellery they collect of students without returning it is awful, i could go on for days about how this school will ruin your secondary school experience do not recommend sending ur child here at all.
