abusive environment both for children and teachers

If I could give them one star, I would. Almost six years since leaving this shithole and me and my peers still have unresolved trauma from attending here. No child should have to go through the mental abuse and torment kids at this school experienced, especially after it became an academy in 2018 and hired all these good-for-nothing low-lives who get a kick out of screaming at children because, in reality, these social rejects (“teachers”) have no power or authority anywhere else in their lives. It’s disgusting.

We were told things like “you will not amount to anything” for something as trivial as refusing to fold our arms during LINEUP like we were in the military, or “get out of MY school” - as if they’d ever be able to own anything more valuable than a broken pen (that too from the school’s poor funding LOL) with the way they carried themselves. Some even made straight-up threatening comments like “I’m gonna kill somebody today” - I’m looking at you Omar Halitosis Hanif.

Students noticed the staff-based bullying constantly - the geography department in particular was notorious for it. Six years on, my friends and I still deal with the effects: feeling vulnerable, believing we won’t amount to anything, struggling with self-esteem, not speaking up because we feel we won’t be heard. We were well-behaved kids who were screamed at, belittled, and ridiculed by the very people who were supposed to support us.

Now my brother’s in Year 11 and this Samina Yasmin low-life is almost a close contender to Omar Halitosis Hanif I hear. She regularly tells children to “GET OUT OF MY SCHOOL” - I’m sorry, YOUR school? Lady, your dad doesn’t even own a village in Bangladesh talking about some YOUR school girl please 😭😭. I have heard reports of her calling students idiots too - is this how you train your teachers now? I doubt that’s very responsible. Funniest part is, in public she’s very docile. All of a sudden, the second they step foot in a school environment, they get the confidence to abuse and belittle MINORS because they can’t argue with people their own age. Pathetic.

Terrible experience

Awful treatment of students, treated like cattle. A soulless passionless place where grades are the only focus.

Cumberland is not good at all!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT send your child to this school! This school is terrible and i mean TERRIBLE. Every single teacher is rude and a hypocrite. Do not send your kid to this school unless you want them to have severe mental health issues and problems.

Crap school and leadership

Poor leadership, have no control over the students. Parent and students have no respect for the residents that live in the road. Rubbish constantly thrown on to the property’s and the language from these students and staff is shocking

Excellent School

This is has been an excellent school for my son. My son started in year 7 and we were not necessarily confident with this school at the beginning. However, seeing the dedication and hard work put in from the teachers themselves gave me the confidence that my son is surely going to succeed. Now fast forward to GCSE results day, my son has achieved one of the best grades in the school having grade 9 in 9 subjects. I did not have to put my son in any tuition or external support for any of the subjects. This just shows the genuine support and care that the teachers have given these students. For all parents out there, I highly recommend giving Cumberland School a chance for your child.

Horrible

This is school is absolutely racist and they have teachers who sexually assault girls and even have a teacher who abused his wife still there at that school. The head teacher only cares abt the school reputation, if u go there and meet a teacher called Mrs brown she will be racist towards u so I suggest u don't go here I know alot of people who left this school cause of their failure to care abt children's mental health. That's why the school needs to shut down for good

Close this school

Extremely bad school, does NOT care about safeguarding children and safety outside of school. They take students phones for a whole week till parents collect their phone.

They don’t care if parents are on their deathbed. Would still rather not give the phone back till parents collect it.

Teachers are also bully’s and think they are a god and think they can overpower students as they are all young.

Be warned, AVOID!

Terrible school with bad management, cliquey behaviour, mistreatment of staff and militant teaching styles.

Turnover is very high with at least 15 teachers leaving yearly. Even the headteacher left this year!

Worst school in London

Most rude teachers ever and school is extremely strict for example you are required to sit with your arms folded in a certain position for the whole lesson (1-2 hours), if you do even a minor thing you are also given a 1 hour detention after school. This is just 1 of many things which go on at Cumberland, please do not join this school
