this school is shit, teachers are horrible to students and they think they can get away with it because they are teachers, the school does nothing about bullying, and they do absolutely nothing to help students with learning disabilities or any kind of disorders, they see a kid doing something because of their disorders & paint the kid as a naughty kid and move on with it, students can’t even go to the toilets without being escorted and even then BTA don’t come to take them, students get treated awfully & nothing gets done about it. I would not recommend this school

This school is super duper rude I mean yall idk what to tell ya but the students are a pain in the ass everyone is so rude and everyone thinks there above eachother like dude know ur level and nkt to mention the lack of security dawg u will be getting 3 jump threats every day but bright side I’d that the food is good and most staff is really nice it’s just the students
The school
This school was alright. It was pleasant to be in and the teachers were nice. The teachers don’t care about you anymore they only care about the length of your skirt, the amount of makeup you’re wearing and if you have anything on your nails. They say they care about bullying but they don’t. they tell you to come back “later” but they never have the time to speak to you. The rules have gotten really strict. The students feel like they’re in prison. Some of the teachers are nice but most of them aren’t. You have to be escorted to the toilet if they let you or if the BTA team show up. This school needs to improve, no one is happy here. I was happy to turn up to school but I now dread it and parents if you want your child to have good mental health then don’t send your child here but if you do let them vent to you because it can help them if you try to sort the problem.
It’s not the teachers - it’s the students
Unlike what the rest of these reviews say, the teaching at The Hastings Academy is not the issue. It’s the students. They are too protected by safeguarding team who protect and coddle the lairy little chavs like babies at the teat. The teachers actually do a fine job when they’re being listened to and don’t have to stop the lesson to patronise some attention seeking prat, or separate a fight.
But upper-management are too scared to actually punish the students in an appropriate way, such as expelling them, incase the students organise another pathetic “””riot””” or attempt to actually bring knives to school.

Ngl would be a great school but the staff who are mean and how they treat bulling is horrible, other schools are apparently a rival against tha, also the food is amazing but there is about 800 of us and the school is not that big , corridors are always full of students and some of the teachers are really mean and can't support a child in lessons, they have to escort you to the toilet.the only good thing about this school is not just the food but the really nice teachers, (I will not use names) but I have 3 favorites that will always be my favorite

The school is great but I feel as if the staff and curriculum could do better. Certain teachers aren't the best at doing their job and don't get lessons finished due to not being able to control their students. I feel as if it could be better too by changing the punishment system because a detention for forgetting a pen is honestly ridiculous, not to mention how the school in general ignores the kids being rude and interrupting people's learning. I feel as if the only good departments are DT and Music. Possibly History too.

Overall this school has good and bad things. Quite alot of bullying and teachers don't really sort it out. Head of houses are so helpful tho and make sure you feel 100% all time.
Do not go
Teachers are rude, incompetent and are not trained to help with special needs kids at all, they push them to one side and take up to weeks to reply to a single email, usually they don’t
The uniform is so strict - people with anxiety disorders will hate it because when you go in, you’re forced to be inspected whilst the door is blocked by a teacher that checks you for the smallest of details, if they worried over other matters this way instead of uniform the school would be so much better
The people also are so childish, rude and just in general it’s a horrible place to be in
The corridors are so tight during lesson changeovers it’s a war to get to each lesson
Altogether, an extremely unwelcoming place, if you have any special needs or disorders, please go to a place that will actually treat you with the compassion and respect you deserve

This school is absolutely awful, please to any parent deciding on which secondary school to send your child, please for the sake of your child do not expose them to the disgusting culture of this place. It will chew you up and spit you back out. A school should be somewhere you go for education and to be nurtured by your teachers. At The Hastings Academy, they strip away every last bit of your identity and make it a struggle to make it in every day.
There is no support for mental health related problems at all, they will turn you away and tell you they don’t have the time, but where does that leave you?

IS LITERAL HELL
is litteral hell, teachers off no support, no help, are EXTREMELY bad on handeling bullying, they care more about making sure you only have one single stud in your ear or any color on your nails than teaching you what you need to get somewhere in life, extremely overcrowded, walking through the hallways is like mission impossible. would not recommend at all, do not send your child here, you are setting them up for faliar.

HELL ON EARTH
HORRIFIC! its like hell on earth, all the teachers have something weird going on about them and make most students uncomfortable, students get treated unfairly and clearly there are favourites and if you aren’t a favourite then you get shouted at for something as simple as just asking for help or saying you don’t understand. Just walking to lesson the school is overcrowded with small people barging into you left right and centre and you feel like you going to be stabbed by one of the children. The school is constantly more concerned about uniform and if girls are wearing socks over their knees than the actual teaching even though the headteachers entire hands are basically metal with the amount of rings she has on all the time not to mention the massive earring hoops. Most the teachers also wear inappropriate outfits like really short dresses etc, but if a student has so much of a nose stud then you will need to pray they don’t tackle you to the ground. Even just walking in in the morning you are surrounded by about 15 teachers examining you from head to toe and it feels like you are walking into the gates of hell and I’ve seen less security at Heathrow. Most students are smelly and unhygienic and all the tables are covered in chewing gum which probably the reason why coronavirus really started. They don’t even let you go to toilet they prefer you to sit there and poo yourself than leave the class for 2 minutes. If you send your kids here after reading this you should be put in prison for child abuse.
HORRIFIC
Horrendous school, spent 5 years here and it was living hell the teachers couldn’t care less and most of them give you the creeps, when walking through the doors every day about 15 teachers surround you and you feel like you are literally walking through the gates of hell and god forbid you have your socks over your knees or small dangly earrings in!!! Teachers never let people go to toilet they are more concerned about is your blazer is on or not than if you defecate on yourself. So many students not even wearing the right uniform and are wearing joggers and filthy hoodies but others are attacked for the smallest of things like if your eyeliner flick is 0.5mm longer that they would like it most the teachers make you feel uncomfortable and shout at you if you don’t understand it or ask for help. Horrible school if you send your kids here after reading this then you should be put in prison honestly

Barbaric
it was rough lol they offered no support, employed weird people half of which had no qualifications or was a paedo. Rather go to the middle ages or nazi germany than step back in that hell hole. As you walk in to ur day there’s about 7 geriatric paedos looking you up and down picking on everything. All have the faces of an old dog. Surprised i didn’t catch a disease whilst attending the school because how unsanitary and rough the students are. Ugly building and falling apart, chavs always smashing doors or windows. Could do with being knocked down. The rest of the staff was evil and i felt like i was part of the Hitler youth in the uniform and how strict it was. Bullying was bad but don’t blame some people because some students look like they came out the sewer. One of the maths teachers was evil and looked like Mrs Brown. Worst 5 years of my life which i’ll never get back. Make sure to have all your jabs before you step in this infested zoo like place. Poo and blood was always smeered up the wall too so definitely make sure you have your vaccinations

this school does nothing about racism homoohobia transphobia and sexism. so many people get bullied and nothing gets done and the teachers don't care
