Here's my crash out and you're gonna sit and read it.
So last year I got really depressed and was basically developing bpd and I basically stopped showing up to school and me and my mum had so many meetings with the school, one time even my therapist showed up. At the time they promised they would put stuff into place like giving me a room for me and my mates to sit in during lunch, but no. So they basically kicked me out after Miss Lutkin spent about 5 months harassing my mum and threatening to fine us (and once did), and I went homeschooled. Worst year of my life by the way. Only recently I’ve come back, right, on antidepressants, living my best life, and 2 days back they’re forcing me to do my mocks. Literally what on earth. I haven’t done work in god knows how long and they’re making me do a HIGHER maths paper, not even foundation btw.
And yeah and then a bit later I’m just sat in the year office after being late. I won’t be naming names but Miss Dusher was just asking me some stuff and we ended up talking about me and yk my mental issues and yk bpd. Tell me why this woman was like “oh so tell me why you think you have bpd” and I gave her a list of symptoms I relate to and told her what research I’ve done and then she was like “...well lot of those symptoms are to do with depression, anxiety and insecurity.” Sorry woman are you a psychologist I didn’t think so. And then she was like “what does your mum think about this?” Well I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this but she agrees with me. Also don’t you dare patronise me I am old enough to talk about my own mental issues without being asked what my parents think.
Too keen on handing out detetenion and not keen on asking if the child is having a problem and struggling, when they do give lunchtime detetenion the child doesn't always get time to have anything to eat or drink.
If your thinking of sending you child then be prepared for the constant phone calls this school complain about EVERYTHING .
your child’s done this done that they give detentions to hundreds of kids everyday for the most stupid things never heard anything like it get caught eating your sandwich because you get a measly half hour and no time to eat it detention late 2 minz for tutor detention what’s that your spraying after pe perfume oh detention like do they know these are teenagers that’s usually what you would expect ohhh no cause none of them probably have one at home .
the teachers need to grow up and the attitude they talk back to the kids they don’t know our kids come and tell us everything that teacher says there horrible the way they speak .
they need to employ older more mature teachers not these 20 year olds that can’t handle it my daughters only been since September and already looking else were it makes Archbishop look good and that’s saying sumat.
expected to climb 5000000 stairs in 50 seconds or else you’ll get an after school detention for being late
teachers are fake nice to parents
year 7 area takes 45% of the school
honestly just a bit poo of a school
#hate it here
Bullying does happen and is not dealt with enough. some staff challenge pupils and often don't allow them to say their point as they think they're correct as they're adults and when taken to higher members of staff it isn't taken seriously enough, which can also lead to students feeling bullied by some staff, breaks and dinners seem to get shorter all the time and there is never enough food for all students. Some teachers are good at teaching and understanding situations and do give students a voice but others don't which is unfair and not looked into within the school. Marvell does have a range of subjects for options in GCSE's for students to chose from. Overall, do wish there was the choice of which school for me personally as I wouldn't have been there but don't think it's the worst school in the UK but definitely not one of the best in my opinion.
To all new pupils, the teachers are amazing if you keep on their good side, however don’t go getting into fights in year 7 it won’t be in your favour when it comes to explaining what’s happened my friend used to get bullied but the bully was treated like the victim as they told teachers first, if your getting picked on tell a teacher or parent/guardian straight away
