Stacked main events

Amazing E10 prayer room. Definitely a fight club, definitely has stacked cards and main events. Don't bother going to this school unless you like to watch fights. Other than that stay far away from this school.

A level

Unusually cruel

Unusually cruel leadership in sixth form and bullying sneering tone used in emails from new headteacher would not recommend and do not feel that children are emotionally safe there.

Some great teachers but good ones are starting to leave now with the change in leadership.

My son was excluded from a school event for a ridiculous and unfair reason if I want to complain complaints go to, you guessed it, the people I would be complaining about! No access to the governors to let them know.

Other students have been treated similarly unfairly for example students are kicked out of sixth form for failing one mock exam no chance of resits etc.
A lack of dignity afforded to them by not knowing this would happen before they sat the exams, being told during the middle of a lesson they were being kicked out, then sending them back into their lesson regardless of how they were feeling.

No fights

Great experience, the fight club that DOESN’T occur every day in the science toilets is a great trip for the whole family. Unfortunately a little scrawny guy called Ibrahim seems to be spending a lot of his time spitting bars in the toilets, and getting battered by year 10s, which lowers the rating a bit.

No drinks, excuses and silly new rules

If you want ur child to not get thirsty during school, then re-consider.

This school doesn’t sell any drinks at all because of their reason “better for the environment.” However, at lunch they go through at least 300 PLASTIC cups every single day, so how on earth is that helping the environment at all? Furthermore, with bottles you’re able to re-fill it throughout the day, so plastic cups are way way way way way worse. Also, every food apart from hot dinners are wrapped in plastic? In my opinion, I believe it’s just to save money and the environment is an excuse.

Another bad thing is that you have to bring a water bottle to school every day, and if you forget your water bottle, well you’ll have to either go through all day without a drink or try and just get a small cup at lunch. Some students may not like the taste of water (After drinking lots I find my mouth to become quite dry) but you’re not even allowed to bring juice anymore either, which I don’t understand at all, it doesn’t interrupt your learning or ruin the school’s appearance, as that’s what they want

They definitely need to sort this out because it’s just a stupid excuse to not go through the bother of selling drinks as well as food and getting them in stock.

As of writing this it’s almost the end of the school year, so the school have now decided to remove school uniform? Apparently it’s because of how people are using it to their advantage, but why cant u just sanction those people not the entire school. Another thing they’ve strangely changed is that girls are ONLY allowed to wear pleated skirts and not pencil skirts or straight skirts at all, I’m not going to write all the stuff that can challenge that change because that’s should be a whole essay.

Talking about academics they mainly just care about your grades, and push you far which can be helpful and you can improve a lot but don’t get caught behind or it will be difficult to catch up.

Unfair sanctions are also a big part, some students are only given one or two isolations for extremely serious things, but then other people get one isolation for just a small thing.

The school introduced “postitive and negative comments” recently, which are good for your parents but you can be given harsh negative comments for small reasons. Also, you don’t really earn anything with your positive comments but a non-uniform day of you reach the top 30 in your year, so I don’t see much point. If you get a negative comments don’t cry and panic cause they don’t matter at all either. I think they should change the name negative comments to something less harsh and negative, for example reflection comments? Just makes y7s panic less.

don’t think there’s much else to say, I could go into more detail but I can’t be bothered. Amazing food though

Great vape shop

Gorgeous science toilets that provide the perfect vaping area for year 11s. Year 10 girls seem to prefer the history loos which I personally think are quite satisfactory too. They also provide sports hall toilets which seem to be popular amongst certain young students seeking pleasure in other areas. I personally have used these loos to get pissed in and found the atmosphere ideal for the drunk students. The male teachers provide such a safe environment for the young girls, some even show their affection through physical touch which is very sweet. Find it lovely how certain history teachers give the boys an easier time than the girls, nothing better than good old fashioned sexism x
Overall, 10/10 experience, would go back, actually am going back in september look forward to seeing you xx

Not bad

I had problems with this anorexic brown boy called imtiaz bashir. He slapped my sweeties out of my hands and was winding me up. Being the big man I was i tried to sort it before I have no choice but to fight ( I'm a three time World Champion Boxer). But instead i did the right thing and told the teacher who did nothing and didnt take my side. Thats when i became a boss man and imtiaz is a bad person. I will report this to Mr Fisher instead.

pathetic

teachers tell you off for pettiest things and knock marks off of tests for pathetic reasons. some teachers hardly ever help students and then have a go at them when they don’t complete questions in class or get questions wrong. pathetic

Awful school

This school is a disgrace. A certain female maths teacher has a massive racist agenda, to the point where she forcibly removed a young Asian student from her form. She is basically Hitler since she doesn't allow her students to talk in form and makes them sit in silence for 30 minutes. Furthermore the punishment system is awful. One male student continuously took pictures up a girls skirt and sexually harassed many others on Instagram yet only got a lunchtime detention. Police shoulda removed this nonce from our school. Honestly disgusting. Another male French teacher posted how he wants all immigrants to be shot on twitter and still has his job. Headteacher needs to sort his game out.

Very bad weird teachers

I am a student at this school currently in year 10. Every time I have a cover teacher called mr.McDonald who I think is new he keeps me back after lesson, gets on all fours and starts barking uncontrollably at me. I am not allowed to smile or laugh otherwise he will slap me across my face and start twerking. Do not come would not recommend

P*edophilia?!

Certain teachers and other members of staff are quite prone to inappropriate comments about children, as an ex employee i can say from a 1st hand experience that the teachers are disgusting. A young girl was being bullied about rumours and actions with another student. I recall that staff in the staff room laughing and commenting on the situation: “slag” , “dirty”, “ew” these are but a few to name. These comments are crude and vile. Aushwitz was a better place for education.

high school

ur black ----> dont care

After my third DUI (3!), my mom was financially supporting me because I didn't have a job and wasn't doing anything but staying at home drinking. She stopped sending me money and started sending me Subway gift cards because she knew Subway didn't sell alcohol. Also the wonderful man I loved broke up with me because he had good boundaries and couldn't be with me while I was so mentally physically spiritually sick.

Today I am 2.5 years sober and married to that man. Have a full time job - got promoted - no more panic attacks - and I am finally able to show up to my life the way I want to. Life is beautiful for the first time that I can remember

Get me out of here

I've being going to this school for 4 years now and everyday I fear for my emotional and physical wellbeing. I am constantly bullied by both teachers and students, In specific a teacher in the history department who will keep me behind AFTER school to swear at me and berate me. I'm so scared.

Only care about good grades

Extreme vaping problem and they have put no measures in place to stop it
Extreme bias towards smarter kids and Girls
with the other half taking harsher punishment for the same thing

Only care about mental health and learning disabilities if the child is doing well and they have a good record ,again with the other half having it seen as a behavioural issue

Teachers who will out certain children and go out of their way to tell them off
and if people they like do much worse things than the individual they don’t like they only get a warning

Dissatisfied mum !

Am a teacher at another school but this school is definitely a thumbs down from me ! Appalling treatment of children with mental health issues and learning disabilities overpriced meals, sexist dress code, my daughter put into detentions for absurd reasons and hated going here by the middle of year 7 clear that this school only cares for your child’s grade which has resulted in breakdowns and burnouts in my daughters case.. Lack of religious tolerance as Sikh children also told off for wearing religious items here! Halifax mums don’t send your kids here if they have passed the eleven plus - send to Crossleys instead x

My experience

I left this school a few years ago, and was glad to. Such a huge emphasis is placed on grades, that when you struggle with mental health the solution is 'get your grades up'. I went to trusted teachers with my issues, and only one or two listened and helped. I went somewhere else for sixth form, because I couldn't take the environment any more, and the choice of subjects for A-level and GCSE were ridiculously narrow, and led me to not be able to do the subjects I wanted. The only good part is the food, and the extra-curriculars. I can see how it would work for some people, but it absolutely did not work for me, nor many of my friends.

I am a student at this school, and I absolute love it! It has a very friendly atmosphere and lovely staff! They deal with bullying well and have A high standard of food. Would absolutely recommend!
