do not come here

The teachers do not care about your well being. if something is going on it gets looked at once and then nothing happens. students get away with bullying other students and stuff never gets sorted.
Too old fashioned of a school. the toilets all falling to pieces. half have no toilet seat in them and most taps do not work.
Houses get separated between ABC and DES which means u are stuck within certain people you may not get along with

alright but also not

a lot of teachers are really mean and strict but i love a lot of them <33333333 mental health support is dogshit here and they only rlly care about sports and house events lol. is all moldy and peeling in the older parts of the school and the “modern” parts are just average at best. still it has a good community feeling to it all so it’s not awful. food is mega expensive but that’s more the suppliers fault.

Way too old fashioned

The school only cares about grades, which is ironic because the teaching is poor.

The only reason this school gets high grades is because of the fact they make everyone take a test to enter.

For the GCSEs in 2021, the school didn't follow OFQUAL guidance, as this would've meant extra work for the teachers, so instead they made everybody sit exams anyway, but instead of them being in a 6 week window, they were all in a 2 week window, great move (/s).

There are a few exceptions to the poor teaching, but generally the teachers have a lack of interest and in my experience and the experience of most of my friends, lessons became boring for the most part.

The school also has a very strict uniform policy for some reason, giving girls Friday night detentions for skirts being too short which is the same punishment they give for somebody starting a fight, utterly ridiculous in my opinion (I'm a boy btw)

In general, this school gets good grades but that isn't because of the school and the student experience is terrible.

A good school but has its flaws

I would say that the school is a really mixed bag. There are some lovely teachers who obviously are passionate about their subject and care greatly about their students, but there are also some who seem to take pleasure in punishing students and teaching boring lessons with minimum effort. The same can be said for the school environment. There are parts of the school that are up-to-date, properly insulated and relatively damage free, but there are others where the hands of time have clearly left their mark, with cracks in the walls and paint chipping from the windows. A few new school bathrooms have been built in the last few years, but the old ones still remain leaving much to be desired. Similarly the rules follow the same pattern: some are fair and sensible whilst others are harsh and controlling. They are also not regularly enforced - for example, some students get away with allsorts, such as having dyed hair, whilst others are chastised for little things like painted nails. However, the good things at this school outweigh the bad, and many parts of the school are supposedly undergoing renovations (although it is unclear if this will actually happen). The school is safe and issues of bullying are dealt with quickly and properly. There are a wide variety of clubs and extracurriculars. The catering company serve mediocre food at extortionate prices, but this is not exactly the fault of the school. Older students are always willing to help younger students and a sense of community is felt at this school.

A Broken System for a Broken School

Incessant bullying was allowed both from students and staff. The counselling team did not help and sent letters (not protected) to my staff. These would be read by students, causing the bullying to get worse.
The form system does not work and separates ABC from DES forms, with the only mixing time being PE (where they cannot speak).
Overall, this school encourages bullying, has a broken form system and only cares about final grades.

From a student

The rules are so strict about self expression. Us students cannot be ourselves. The councillor isnt helpful at all. The safe guarding team doesnt care about the safety of the children at all. The school building doesnt look safe one bit. I wouldn't recommend sending a child to this school.
