I am extremely dissatisfied with this secondary school. The standard of behaviour from some of the teachers is completely unacceptable. Many seem uninterested in helping students and can be rude, dismissive, and unprofessional when concerns are raised. They are not helpful and have no empathy whatsoever and some of them need to be under investigation. Bullying is a major issue throughout the school, and despite repeated complaints, very little appears to be done about it. Students who are targeted often feel ignored, while disruptive pupils seem to get away with their behaviour without any consequences. Another serious concern is the number of students openly smoking weed around the school grounds and nearby areas. It creates a terrible environment and sends the message that rules are not being enforced properly. They even offer it sometimes to the year 7s it is disgraceful. The school itself is also incredibly dirty. Corridors, toilets, and outdoor areas are often littered with rubbish, and the overall condition of the premises reflects a lack of care and pride. I would not recommend this school to any parent. Between the poor behaviour from staff, widespread bullying, drug use among students, and the dirty environment, it has been a very disappointing experience for both myself and my child. Also why did the school change its name to carington school because they claim that they want to be a proper secondary school and that they want to rebuild their reputation when they have done nothing. This school is disgusting, useless and stupid. Do not send your child here!!!
Said they focused on student mental health and didn’t, I left with lots of issues like anxiety and depression, they also said they took great care in bullying incidents but because of student favouritism they never sort the situation out properly I was left with bruised ribs and a dislocated ankle cause I was jumped by some bullies and they said they talked to the students but didn’t suspend them or give them detention, I felt really disappointed with my time here. My friend has dyslexia and they also went here and instead of getting help the teachers just kept telling them off for not trying even though they were putting all their effort into the work they did, I would recommend going to another secondary school
If you have a child with special needs do not send them here as a person with autism they took away all of my support and did nothing when it came to panic attacks.
This has not only happened to me but a number of people that were part of SEN
They do not handle bullying fast at all and takes multiple weeks to get things sorted.
Some teachers are lovely especially the art teachers. Some you will hate to a degree.
The food is ok sometimes they don't cook the food right do it's still raw. The maths teachers do not even teach you properly as now that I'm in college and having to do maths my math teacher now made things so much easier and has pointed out that the maths teachers here are wrong.
It’s a pretty good school, most teachers are really nice and some are extremely helpful. however there is gum absolutely everywhere under tables, chairs, floors, everywhere. there is obviously a few odd teachers that are straight up rude and hand out detentions and warnings for literally no reason. pretty spacious football field as well tbh. some teachers none of us will ever understand, nor will want to understand bc of how they are. 1 math teacher especially.
The teachers are really kind and caring but when you get on the bad side of them they are strict. Some teachers just are not nice.
There is gum under every table. The walls are dirty. Last of all the water fountains are dirty so need a clean apart from that a good school.
