very bad please dont go here the teachers dont even know how to teach and the punishments are so harsh

I am writing this review because I want all of the parents out there to be aware of the truth, the truth of how terrible the school Thomas deacon academy is. I am going to start of by saying how teachers do not give a damn about mental health at all not even a single bit! adding on to that students behave horrendously and students bully other students and freely get away with bullying. Teachers do not deal with bad students properly at all. Teachers do not support mental health the way they should, all they do is slap some "mental health awareness" posters all over the building so that when OFSTED come they think TDA is a good school when is reality it is the literal opposite. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE THE TRUTH MUST COME OUT, JUSTICE FOR THE STUDENTS WITH MENATL HEALTH NEEDS TO BE SEVERD!!! please if your a parent do not send your child Tda.

I been in tda for like 3 years now and I don’t recommend parents sending their children to this awful school ,loads of sexual harassment new stupid rules each day , 1sec late = 30 min detention ?? This school doesn’t care about your problems with teachers they will believe a teacher more than a student even if there’s like 45 students vs 1 teacher obv the teacher would win .School only cared about one stupid necklace more than bullying like wtf barely any teachers care about students and yet they say “we care about our students “ this is bullsh!t they don’t let us go toilet then they wonder why students walk out of lessons to go to the toilet 5 MINUTES ISNT ENOUGH. The only help we can get is from our friends .They tell us to be respectful to them when there the ones shouting being disrespectful to us first.they teach us useless stuff and expect us to pass the test even though it’s completely different of what I have been doing .TDA is unfair because if one student is naughty the whole class should be punished ,

Use bad language,Most teachers swear infront of students,Really strict,You get detention easily and overall a really bad school.They swear to kids and if you are late you get 30 min detention .Rating:1/10

Went to this school from 2013-2017 and decided to write this review because I was thinking back on my horrible experience and will forever regret wasting my teen years going here. I don’t know how it is now, but if I can save someone from choosing this school then I will. Firstly, I was an extremely quiet and shy child with social anxiety and stayed out of everyone’s way but this is what I got from my experience. 80% of my teachers back then were disgustingly horrible. Horrendous teaching styles, terrible attitude toward students, not understanding at all, rude and extremely strict. They only care about their image to outsiders and will put a front to guests. They don’t even care about their own staff, didn’t even acknowledge when a lovely teacher we had passed away! Nothing! No memorial, no regards for their contribution to the school, nothing! Absolutely disgusting!! This school was so bad it made my mental health deteriorate to the point I can’t remember 80% of my school life. They care more about their image than the children attending the school. It was all good in 2013 until 2014 when the headteacher changed to that absolute witch of a woman then that’s when it all went downhill. I really hope it’s much better now but honestly just don’t bother putting your child here. It looks good from the outside but it’s all an act. Don’t fall for it.

Absolutely awful would strongly suggest not sending your child there , they don’t resolve bullying or harassment and have a appalling pastoral team . They treat kids in care horribly or any who struggles a little bit. Their first resort in any situation is exclusions or seclusion when it’s unnecessary. 9 times out of 10 they don’t even care to hear the other side of the story they just listen to one person’s argument and then back it without actually investigating into the situation. Teachers and staff are foul mouthed and have no respect for students in any way shape of form. If your struggling and then can blatantly see that they act like they can’t and get you in trouble , half the teachers remove you from lessons over minor things and then u end up with a 60 min for nothing , when someone’s getting bullied the teachers do nothing about it, they claim that they’ll investigate it and they never will . I’m honestly surprised that this school is not shut down because they the way that the treat their students and how other students treat each other is just barbaric.

I've been going tda for a while now and all I can say is that most teachers only care about impresing the head teachers. "their all about mental health and support students" but honestly as someone whose gone through loss and a self harm addiction they hardly help. all they do is show u posters that hardly do anything even when there's proof of past trauma, hospitalization they never help the only time I ever got the smallest help was because my parent had sent angry emails and only then I got a stupid piece of paper telling people I need time out the classroom or what not most of the students are snitches or stuck up and find ways to make your life difficult there's hardly any support for parents here I don't recommend it

It’s not great. The students aren’t bad to be honest, i mean it’s a secondary school in english fgs. The teachers though. Oh lordy, don’t get me started on them. Some are brilliant, some are awful. Right, one of my maths teachers is amazing, such a lovely lady and she really does care about her students. But other teachers such as head of years and people who let the power get to their head are horrible. They just scare students every single person in my year was terrified of this one teacher. This teacher gave detentions for no reason one dude forgot to tuck his chair in and they gave them a 90 minute detention. Teachers here don’t give a crap about mental health at this school.
