Psychology

Excellent

Personally, it is an amazing place to study, so far, sot a single bad experience with staff. Amazing views and great environment, extremely reasonable on conduct and rules. The courses are great too, however quite a lot of writing. Staff genuinely care about your education and are always on hand to email you back. All smiles and greeting, extremely friendly, definitely recommend!

My experience

I had a terrific time at this college in the beginning. However, there was clear nepotism and favouritism during my time at the college. This was due to me having a personal relationship with a student who's father also worked at the school. When this relationship broke down, the boy went around and started spreading rumours about me mixed with some truth so it would seem more believable. Instead of first verifying these rumours with me, teachers from multiple departments began to gang up against me and treat me differently. Against a 17 year old. It was mob mentality. When I emailed my tutor about what had occurred, instead I was gaslit and silenced. This is because they liked the boy and didn't really care for what I had to say. They began to bully me too because of my religious beliefs, which was at the time where I was raised a Jehovah's Witness. I am also Black by the way. The clear disrespect and lack of class of this college was evident by the way I was abused. I finally had an experience where a physics teacher humiliated me by reading out my grade out loud in front of the whole class. It was a poor grade due to the continuous bullying and my crisis of faith in which led me to exit my previous faith. By now the rumours had also spread to my classmates where no one liked me or wanted to be seen around me. It was very toxic. I even got on a public bus and saw some of my classmates and when I saw them and they recognised me the first thing they said was "No she's sh*t wait till she gets off the bus and I'll tell you why." I felt like I had nothing to do but leave. I have since left and I am now attending another sixth form. When I finally reported it, nothing was done about it. I have met several other people actually adults that used to attend and were staff members at this school who also gave their own experiences of being bullied at this college. Which is why I am not surprised why the teachers do nothing about student bullying, they bully each other anyway. The problem is intuitional, their own staff bully each other. Ever since I have been left with a myriad of mental health issues. I don't really know what to do anymore. I feel like all I can do is warn others about the environment at this college. Toxic and full of shallow minded people that get jealous easily when they see others thriving which is what happened in my case. I understand people have been hurt by Jehovah’s witnesses but don’t bully the children. If another jw 16, 17, 18 year old walks through your doors again welcome them and most importantly encourage them to get an education by going to university.
