This school is genuinely the worst. None of the teachers care about mental health and all they care about is good behaviour and grades. The school has ruined my mental health and the school is falling apart

This is school is a disgrace teachers are allowed to hurl abuse at students with no punishment but quick to kick out kids over small issues but offer no real support make empty promises to Parents and kids I’ve never seen such a bad school the headteacher has a attitude problem frankly they should shut it down and replace 98% of the staff as there is one or two good ones

Not a nice school teacher gets away with everything and don’t let students have a say what as happened! They don’t care about mental health at all and what needs they have don’t send them to this school waste of time

The school do not care about their students or their mental health. This school has uneducated supply teachers who clearly haven’t gone through basic training as they get into kids faces and scream at them. So do not send your children here unless you want them to be badly treated and not cared for. Also the head teacher does not care about how she speaks to parents nor how she speaks to pupils she just kicks you out for absolutely nothing.
This school is good but has no good students
The students are the reason this school gets a bad rap. Everyone is angry about the banning of skirts, even though the girls were given warnings about how short their skirts were getting, but they kept on shortening the skirts so of course the skirts got banned and everyone was mad 'at the school'. Another thing is the constructional strength. The school fallong apart because the school doesn't have the money to repair it and yet, Everyone is mad at the school. The teachers are good, they want you to learn and want you to have good safety in school. But everyone thinks that teachers are mean even though its the student that are being mean. The food in this school is good, it looks and tastes nice and the learning is fine iys just sometimes the people teaching ain't that good at teaching.

The Amount of bullying that goes on here is insane. The teachers just sit around with a slide on the board giving 0 help at all. You get detentions for anything. Even the nerdiest kids get detentions. There is like 2 good teachers in the entire school who won’t be horrible to you. The building is falling apart and the school is WAY overcrowded for the amount of space there is. You will get shoved down stairwells daily and just generally pushed around by the older years.

don't even bother with this school
ths is just terrible there is nothing good about it, this place just made my mental health 10x time worse than it already had been, i am so glad i changed schools.
i had a panic attack every rare occasion i went it would just end up with the teachers staring at me saying that ill be fine and that it isnt big a deal yet seconds after i would run out of school because of how they would treat us students

Negative based approach
The school is very negative based. The staff are quick to inform parents if your child is wearing something out of line with the schools policy but doesn’t deal with any bully behaviour. My daughters tutor will give my daughter an all day detention if she’s ‘talked too much in tutor’ but any issues my daughter is facing within the school setting (friendship/bullying issues) won’t be dealt it.

The stupid students vape like crazy
Saw some older years vaping in the toilets and when they came out it looked like they set off a bomb in there there was so much smoke coming out of it.

They lie about what goes on to ofsted.
It wasn’t until I left that I realised how much of a prison it was. This year the students are no longer allowed to wear skirts and shorts, even during scorching wether. They give different students unfair advantages to everyone else. One big example was the dance students or PE students. Nothing against the students themselves but the teachers adored them. They could never do anything wrong. They where like royalty in our teachers eyes. Secondly they banned phones which is understandable. But before they did this we had the opportunity to present proof of any bullying happening in school. Every since phones have been banned the school claimed to “not have a bullying problem” and if a student try’s to show video evidence or screenshots they get in trouble for having their phone out in the first place. I never got the proper support in class. And I felt belittled if I ever asked for help. All my older siblings who went there suffered RIDICULOUSLY with bullying far worse then me. To the point students attempted to strangle my sister with a skipping rope and my other sister was getting repeatedly beaten in the pe changing rooms. But nothing was done because the girls doing it where the teachers so called “netball girls”

Not to mention that many of these students have mild autism or communication difficulties or past trauma which means having the teachers speak to us they way they did is what caused bad behaviour. The safeguarding system was really insensitive and inconsiderate. Many teachers would make fun of the students when they weren’t in the room. The toilets are unhygienic and they do not care about our mental health one bit. The one time they talked about mental health was when they told us to exercise to sort it out which was ironic coming from a PE teacher. There are so many other things that can help your mental health that I never knew about until I went to college where they take the students needs as a priority.
Big shout out to Chris Dwyer, Becky Harris and Antony Nduritu and Jasmine Turner though. They have always supported the students in so many situations and given amazing advice to those who need it.

Bad Rep
Gets a bad rep, however when I was there it was punching well above its wait, yes there was bullying but the school dealt with it well. The teachers were all good and most of them enthusiastic, personally I feel that it has a bad rep but really is quite a good school. The school definitely punches above its wait in terms of sport, at the time I was there the rugby and football teams were both going way beyond what was expected as was the hockey team, most of the students in my year came out with good grades and wait onto college then uni.

The school is horrible, not even joking. It's falling apart; a literal threat to life. The building is from 1970s. The staff do nothing about mental health or bullying. Staff only care about you being in school and in your lesson. It's not a good school.
Terrible Rules
All the school cares about is uniform and how we look rather than helping us learn. A lot of students smoke and deal drugs and the teachers don’t do anything about it. Found a lot of hair in my food while opening it. Worst…school…ever.

This school is bs all the school cares about is their reputation they don’t sort out any bullying the food is sometimes served raw the teachers have favourite students and if u are in their bad books they don’t bother trying to help u they give u detentions for stupid reasons. the deputy head is judgemental to the point it is rude they are more focused on white socks and uniform and piercings because apparently it’s a “distraction” like get a grip they tell student they should have a voice but when students do they shut them down they should stop trying to be like blundells and focus on the students the already have the toilets are unhygienic with wet toilet roll on the ceilings their are holes in the walls writing on the hand dryers and it smells like piss and most of the students deal drugs and teachers don’t take any notice if u want to talk to a teacher talk to Nicola lane or Chris Dwyer probably the only half decent teachers their and went to tivy high for 5 years worst mistake of my life don’t go

If I could rate this lower than 1 star I definitely would. This school has no redeeming qualities apart from a couple of decent teachers unable to make a difference under the terrible head teacher’s rule. Awful resources for students with mental health issues and staff continuously ignore and disregard said students. Massive bullying and harassment issues. Sort yourselves out because no kids at this school or parents I’ve spoken to are happy with THS. Staff I’ve spoken to have been unhelpful regarding these issues which is unsurprising as Sammy Crook has done nothing to resolve these problems.

Imagine sending a girl into school wearing trousers to be more ‘gender neutral’ why not make everyone wear skirts? It’s being very biased towards the gender of males. Absolute joke of a school needs shutting down and the head teacher is an inconsiderate tw*t. Petition to shut this school down!!!!
How shit the school was
If I hate a choice to I would of picked no stars. I was at tiverton high school for only a year and a few months after I joined I realised how rubbish the school was. The teachers don’t care about education, they care more about how we look and the language we use in school. Teachers say they are always here to talk to you if you need help in everything but every time you need help they always tell you to sort it out your self. The reason I left tiverton high was not only cause of the education but also because of the bullying. I went to head of year and assistant head of year many times in one week complaining to them what had happened and even my dad came into sxgool to have a meeting but when they said that the people that were bulling me wouldn’t be out at break that same day I saw them out at break. The teachers only say what you want to hear not what there actually going to do. Now that I have left, I am hearing from friends of mine that them samw people have started to bully them. So even after I have left they still haven’t stopped. Although I have left the school they still have managed to find a way to still bully me. It’s very upsetting hearing that my friends are going through the same thing as me. I walk around outside of sxgool making sure I check everywhere before going to place because I don’t want to bump into any of that group. The only thing the school actually has done is make an assembly and I’m 100 % sure that will not make anything different. I am now suffering of anxiety and depression because of this sxgool and this is what I have to live with now. I will definitely make sure no one in my family or even my children come to this school when I am older.

I think the school totally stinks Tiverton middle school and Tiverton high school Ranger school was a very good school Pocasset school was a very good school for Barton school is very good but when it comes up to Tiverton high school and middle school no they don’t care about anything they don’t care about the students they don’t teach right at all they have young students just out of high school being teachers I don’t recommend the school for anybody They don’t help in education wise at all
Worst school in the county
I used to go to Tiverton high school and I can say first hand it is the most awful school in Devon and probably a bit further out . I was bullied for 2 years I would skip pe and art because I was scared to be in a changing room with some of the girls because I felt unsafe unsupervised with them and scared to go into art because they’d throw objects at me and the teacher would constantly leave the room so they had many opportunities to shout things at me and throw things, I informed the mr dwyer and miss lane who took over my situation throughout those 2 years of everything that had been happening to me like they told me to but everytime they would say ignore it or that they would deal with it when nothing would be done and at one point miss lane questioned wether it was my fault when I had came to her crying and informing her of everything , I was almost attacked what 3 times throughout those 2 years and again practically nothing was done and then I was in the cafeteria while a teacher on duty stood a couple metres away and watched me get cornered by a large group of people and attacked even after this had happened the school excluded the year 10 now year 11 girl for a day and I felt so unsafe that I left the school while she to this day is in that school and her punishment was not even close to what should of happened I now suffer from ptsd and anxiety and the school done nothing to help me when I left after informing miss scotting and miss lane I felt to unsafe to come back to school. I was a victim of nasty bullying and this school is disgusting I hope that they see this because they need to know how badly I still to this day am struggling with the events in that school and their lack of actions made my mental health a thousand times worse because they could’ve easily stopped it but they did NOTHING so this is a personal note for miss lane I came to you for help I would cry in front of you and tell u how scared I was and you sat there and done nothing to make me feel safer and a personal note to mr tong I came in with my mum to have a meeting about what would happen to the girl and you said u can’t exclude her permanently because she may not get accepted to colleges when she’s older well now I’m out of school I have gcse this year and I have missed so much school because I’m to scared to go to schools near in case they know what happened to me (ptsd) and do I’m trying to at start a school in crediton where I will know no one and feel safe you should feel disgusted that u chose to protect the bully and not the victim!!!
Disgusting School
This school is horrific. I've never seen such an inconsiderate staff team in all my apple years. They constantly give false hope to students and never think practically. It seems as if they enjoy punishing students for the sake of it. Taking phones away was a bad idea. WHAT HAVE YOU GAINED? Exactly. Rather than focussing on the length of people's skirts and the language in the halls, maybe try reducing the amount of drugs dealt during school hours. The headteacher seems to only care about keeping up her reputation and has no interest in students' wellbeing. A very condescending and argumentative staff team that are not open to criticism. So much for student voice.
