Wellington school is a total let down. Behaviour is EXTREMELY poor and consistently nobody does anything about it. Lessons are chaotic. Learning is poor. The results are very very poor compared with other private schools in Somerset and Devon. It’s getting rapidly worse under the new head. I couldn’t recommend this school at all.
Great disappointment of a school. Absolutely no communication with parents.
No one knows what they are doing and most members of staff do not care for your children. Once you question them, they all try to pass the responsibilities to each other. Results are not great too. All the other independent schools in the area are higher than Wellington. They are trying to change the scoring / grades to hide the fact the results are so low. And the discipline is got so bad in the last 2years, that i am looking arround for other alternatives. Very disappointed.
As an international student, my experience at Wellington School did not match its claims around inclusivity and mental health support. During a difficult period, pastoral decisions felt inconsistent, cultural sensitivity was lacking, and I felt under-supported during the UCAS process.
Wellington is good for sport and music but not academics. I spent two years trying to see student support due to a diagnosed problem but never did, and they are pretty bad with handling bullying. That being said the teachers are generally nice and willing to help, there's just quite a few who don't know how to teach.
