Lost five years of my life

West Park school genuinely took five years of my life from me.

The entire time I was a student at this school I was horrendously bullied by my entire year group, and by the time the teachers could be bothered to listen to me I was three months away from finishing my GCSEs in year 11. I had gotten to the point where I was trying to avoid going into school at all costs and was skipping lessons just to avoid being around other students. The teachers only ever seemed to care about bullying cases when it was popular students involved, in which case it would be solved within a day, for everyone else you're offered the exact same process either a 'witness statement' form that they never act upon, or the same excuse of "there's not enough evidence".

This excuse was given to me regularly despite me experiencing multiple anxiety attacks per day, often crying in every lesson due to comments made by my peers, and at one point even being followed home by some people in my year just so they could torment me further. What this resulted in was me leaving year 11 with good GCSE grades (incredible given the torment I experienced), but a severe amount of trauma, memories being almost completely blocked out and forgotten from the five years I was there, alongside worsened anxiety, which in the years since I left I have had to go through multiple rounds of therapy for to mostly recover from what I went through.

This school failed me and it failed countless other people in my year group at the time, yet they pride themselves on supposedly having some of the best bullying policies in the area, as well as apparently putting "pupils and their achievements first", which is an honest lie. I genuinely cannot recommend sending your child to or attending this school, save yourself the trouble and consider a different school or better yet homeschool if possible.

Not going to lie, it’s good when you look back. Yes you’ll hate it when your there but it’s worth every second at the end.

Its not bad...

Im still a student attending there. The teachers are alright the odd math teacher is amazing, the art department are absolutely fantastic. They are very strict on uniform policies, they do not treat behaviour very well. They have one set of rules for one student and another set for a different student. You also get told off for self defense but apart from that its alright. Foods great
