Avoid this school
My daughter is leaving Winslow C of E School this year (2025) and I feel compelled to warn any parent considering this school to avoid it at all costs . My daughter has had torrid time there , having been assaulted , bullied , ignored for her SEND until we personally paid for a private assessment in 2024 and basically have had to deal with an inept and weak headteacher through outb. My daughter was assaulted , physically punched in the face by a boy much larger than her in front of a teacher, his explanation was that he thought she was laughing at him , the punishment for a physical assault was the headteacher reminding him of the school values and that he shouldn’t be so unkind!! Is this the kind of person you want protecting your child. My daughter has multiple presentation ADHD which we first raised with school 3 years ago, we raised it at every Parents evening and was told they would deal with it through the SEN , they didn’t , we finally paid for a private diagnosis and only then did they act to help her ……in year 6. As for education , I find it very weak , they do not have a homework policy and my daughter learnt more in 9 months of attending an out of school private organisation 2 hours a week ( in classes of 30 ) than she did in the whole year at Winslow School. In summary I tried every year for 4 years to get her moved and my biggest regret is that I ever let her go there in the first place. A very weak headteacher , little discipline , favouritism shown throughout school and basically a poorly led school

I would not recommend this school under the present leadership
My daughter has been at this school for 6 years and since the change of headteacher and numerous experienced staff leaving it has deteriorated beyond belief. Safeguarding is atrocious , discipline is non existent the complaints policy is ineffective and if you do raise an issue the headteacher just fobs you off . As a parent you are not even allowed direct access to the board of governors all correspondence is through the office so even the secretary gets to read your complaint . In summary the school places a number of directives as its key virtues and quite frankly the staff ignore them theirselves. As for education my daughter spent a year at private evening school and they were amazed at how little she knew at the start but more surprisingly she went from bottom in her class at maths to top within the same 1 2 months that speaks volumes about the teaching quality
