Bullying allowed, favouritism and lack of investment
Our experience reflects other reviews.
Bullying is not dealt with. The victim is made to feel like the problem. Bullying behaviour, especially by children of staff, is ignored. When we raised a complaint we were financially bribed not to take it further. Some staffs behaviour can also border on bullying and unkind.
There is clear favouritism towards a chosen few who are given every opportunity while others achievements and abilities are ignored. More often than not its children of staff who are given the opportunities.
SEND provision and understanding is poor. There is an undercurrent that the child needs to change, not the teaching.
There is little capital investment in the school which relies on Chinese directors. There isn't even a proper library for senior girls. Recent accounts suggest its not particularly strong financially.
It struggles to retain day pupils into 6th form due to a lack of choice and diminishing numbers so relies mainly on international students.
We withdrew our daughter and moved her to another local girls school. It is the polar opposite of Adcote and she couldn't be happier.
So my advice is to spend that little bit more and avoid this school - unless of course you work there or your child is a bully. Then they will thrive.
This school has amazing education facilities, alongside an amazing activity curriculum. The teachers and food are the worst section. The teachers understand no boundaries, they openly walk into the school bathrooms and look around without knocking on the door before coming in.The bullying is poor, they don’t do anything about bullying. The teachers turn around everything so it is blamed on you.The food hygiene is absolutely appalling, the amount of times i have found hair is my food is revoltingly disgusting it makes me want to physically throw up in the bathrooms where the teachers invade. They have lovely grounds with much to explore.Over all you must set your place in the school foodchain and always watch your back. You can’t trust anyone.
I have been here for over 6 years now. The Teachers are lovely and will always try helping you to do your best, however some teachers can be bias. Education is good in most departments. The school food can be nice and has a good variety most days, though the cutlery is not the most hygienic. All the students are lovely and we all get along very well as it is a small community, the new Head Teacher is so nice and she makes everyone's voice heard. overall the school has provided me and my friends with a good experience and long lasting memories.
Did nothing about bullying. New head teacher is absolutely useless. She states 'it's not my job to look after the girls' and also falsely stated about money issues. Her daughter vapes and there is too much fighting for a private school. The maths and science department was good though.
It's a pretty good school, quite small though. One good thing about a small school though is that you get lots of different opportunities that you wouldn't usually get in a school of a larger size.
Did nothing to stop bullying, and give virtually no support. Some higher up teachers were rude and many felt they could not trust them. Friendship issues were handled horrendously, I would never send my daughter here.
