This school is one of the most disappointing and frustrating institutions I have ever come across. The way it operates raises serious concerns about its integrity, professionalism, and duty of care. Instead of prioritising the welfare of students and maintaining open communication with parents, the staff here appear far more focused on protecting one another, covering up mistakes, and shielding colleagues from accountability.
Time and time again, parents who have genuine concerns are brushed aside, dismissed, or treated as though their voices do not matter. It feels as though the school has built a wall between itself and the community it is supposed to serve. Any attempt to raise an issue is met with defensiveness or indifference, rather than constructive dialogue. This is not what you expect from an educational environment where children’s futures are supposed to be the priority.
There are so many flaws in the way this school is run. Investigations into complaints or serious matters appear shallow, rushed, or, in some cases, completely swept under the rug. It is deeply worrying to see how many situations go “resolved” without any meaningful action being taken. It gives the impression that staff can behave however they like, knowing their colleagues will cover for them and that nothing will ever come to light.
Ofsted really need to take a closer look at what is going on here. Parents cannot be expected to trust a school that consistently ignores them, fails to be transparent, and refuses to hold staff accountable. The fact that these under-investigated and underrated issues continue to be pushed aside is absolutely unacceptable. It is disgusting that an institution responsible for children’s education and well-being can behave this way without consequence.
The lack of professionalism is staggering. Instead of striving to create a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for students and their families, the school seems more interested in protecting its own reputation at all costs. Unfortunately, this comes at the expense of the children, who deserve so much better.
In summary, this is not a school I would ever recommend. Until Ofsted carries out a thorough and transparent review of its practices, and until the leadership team shows real accountability, it will remain an institution that puts its staff above its students and refuses to listen to the very people who trust them with their children every day.
School is a good school, fn activities house points and whatever but unfortunately the teachers were sometimes strict and it sometimes made me distracted but it's okay.
Unprofessional staff, management need to get off their high horses and understand the real issues in schools. Glad my children were taken out from this school
Ark victoria academy is the worst school in birmingham
Ark victoria is worst school I have ever been to
Some of the teachers don't really care care about our learning I'm on a manage move their and if you don't want your child to be physically and mentally drained you can send them their but I recommend you don't.
People do not send ur children here as my son had a detention for giving his friend his bag, also my son came back complaining to me that his chicken was raw and was purple I highly advise toy to stay away from this school there hygiene is absolutely terrible if ur child did come her he would experience bullying bad education and bad health the rest is up to u
urm im in some room with randoms bc i went to a teacher who asked for me to go to him like be foreal and im here the whole day so yyaaay , teachers need to understand and listen to their students better smh.
I’m not happy with this school at all with how they contact parents. I was told my brother has a 15 min detention through the messages but he was kept for 1hour. This happened on many occasions where they didn’t send the right information. After school when my brother didn’t get home after 15 mins I got worried and started phoning school to see where he is. Within 30 mins I rang the school 50 times but not 1 call had been answered. I then rang the school the next morning and asked them why they didn’t answer the call and they just made excuses that they was busy. We was worried sick and school didn’t even try admit their mistakes. Reception is a whole joke they don’t even know what is going on and try just get rid of you from the phone.
My children attend primary at ARK, i have found all the Leadership and teaching staff to show genuine concern for every child's progress.
The primary Leadership is always willing to engage with parents and listen to any issues.
Teaching standards are very good and children are supported and encouraged to increase their potential.
Its honestly really great in my opinion, only downside is that some teachers act way more superior to students then other teachers act. Only a group of teachers make the school look horrible, but other than that everything else is pretty good!
Would give no start if i could absolutely terrible school , did not care about students gcse grades were all fake due to covid, teachers were unhelpful and rude. Students were equally terrible and everyone suffered the consequences
Very stressful to work in. SLT don’t listen to you and make you feel insignificant. They have unrealistic expectations and Unrealistic deadlines. I don’t understand why they are like this.
