Ashley High School

Couldn't recommend a worse school to send your autistic child to, especially if your child is a girl for 5 years my males classmates would constantly makes sexist remarks to me, hit me and terrorise me and what did the school do about this? nothing I was told to ignore it at best or got in trouble myself for reporting it at worse at one point they even told me I couldn't tell my mum about what was happening to me because they didn't want her to call them but by far the worst was when I was sexual assaulted twice the first time being infant of the teacher herself and the boy who did it got no punishment if your kid is getting bullied by another student the staff will only take the side of the more disabled child it's never about who's right or wrong despite what the school claims the staff are not at all capable of handling disabled students and will let them get away with so many things in fear of a tantrum.The girls changing room also acts as a storage room countless times while I was getting changed a boy would just walk in to retrieve something a teacher needed because the changing room didn't have any way of communicating that someone was currently in there and when I requested such I thing to the vice principal I was told to tell the student council about it I would like to add that the boys changing room had a occupied sight so yeah real good job there. Not to mention the bias of the 'golden students' getting much better treatment then other student the was one such golden student that attenped to go into the girls changing room and tried to touch a girl under her mickers when caught in the act he ran our the school and what was his punishment for this a mere one warning the way this school handles sexual assault and rape is disgusting. I would also like to mention that if you are not in the highest class you do not get offered gces even if you are fully capable of being able to do so i have to do gcse maths and english in college right and to say I am very behind is a understatement Ashley maths was literally just the most basic amount of maths possible they didn't us anything like negative numbers,prime factors not one bit if basic gcse maths instead we got to learn how to memorise the time tables at 15 they just don't care about the students potential and capability to them your kid is just a number that they make a great amount of money on. The two playgrounds need to be worked on to the one is the back is ok with a few gym machines and a football field it's the one at the front that is atrocious literally a giant square of plain ground with a few metal beaches the worst thing about it is that the middle of it was used for football and had no barriers to protect the students outside of the square me and others student could consistently get hit by the football one time I even got hit right in the face front needs work.

Overall I wouldn't wish this school on my worst enemy most of the staff don't care and students are being held back and even getting mental and physical hurt I was in the worst state of my at this school I went from being a happy little girl to a girl who had suicidal thoughts, would ball my eyes out everyday end the day, lived in fear of being taken advantage of, had a low self esteem, gained trust issues, gained a fear of men, got diagnoised with anxiety and so much more I have still got alot these issues even 3 years after my leave for a school that claims to help with students that struggle with communication it sure left me with severe communication skills that are now only improving in college I thank anyone who was read this long review and hope it helps if putting out my experience can save even one child from this hell hole then its worth the panic attack it took to write this and relive some if the events.
