Poor GCSEs results speak volumes about the quality of education at this school. Have failed students in so many ways, I have given up the countless complaints and chasing for answers. Two gcse subjects are failures due to lack of teaching. PPP plans ignored, never finished between year 8-9 and never reviewed. Their awards nights are a fluffy way of propelling a good image, when in fact decisions are biased and unfair. Completely unjustified decisiona. Students who have been excluded numerous times are still given awards. No back bone in punishments, terrible behaviour, not addressed resulting in unsafe environments for students. No follow up or notification of incidents. Some very severe! Some good teachers but very poorly organised on the whole. Many past students failed GCSEs, projected target tracks are literally made up, decided by a computer not a teacher or based on actual test results! Grade differences achieved vs projected are huge. At 6th form this is the difference between A* in subjects taught at Yate Academy and BGS and E at of that at Sodbury. They have announced closure of the sixth form - purely based on their attempt to hide the fact that many of their current Yr 9/10 students are not expected to achieve the grades needed for the entry requirements needed for level 3 courses. A complete shambles of a school. Glad my child is finished and regret choosing the school. AVOID.
School is a complete and utter sh*t tip. Horrible staff who don’t care about anything you say, horrible to parents and teachers and over all a really bad school. The head teacher should be fired immediately for her actions and so should some other teachers!
Pretty average, although behaviour is rubbish and the school uniform looks bad, the skirts only fit 1 body type and the trousers don’t fit everyone right, also the jumpers get bigger everytime they’re washed and are way too long
