Not good.

PE is a very good subject at this school as they do teach you very good values and skills. The rest is poor, bullying is not taken seriously at this school and it is very clear they have favourites. The food in the canteen is good and their apple crumble is amazing I'm not denying that but the teaching quality is very bad. They get mad when you do bad on a test but they don't teach you well.

stuff they don't tell you

Okay, so first of all, I'm gonna list the stuff that the school won't tell you.

The food is pretty good, but extremely expensive. £1.40 for a sausage roll, £2.50 for tiny popcorn chicken and wedges, and 90p for the TINIEST drink.

There is a ton of fights and bullying, but they deal with issues quite well.

They have banned ALL games and videos, so if you like that then cool. BUT THEY BANNED THE DINOSAUR GAME LIKE ???

You will get in trouble for having your phone on you, and it will be taken away until the following Friday or if your parent collects it.

They IT department are super strict with what you are searching.

Be prepared to be ten minutes late whilst getting your phone, the queues are very long.

You can stick stickers on your chromebook IF they are appropriate. Yes, you can have keychains and any pencil case/water bottle, again appropriate. You can bring any food, someone brought in a PS5 controller cake to share! You can have juice flavoured water or water in your water bottle, and any kind of chromebook case. Headphones are allowed too.

Hatch

The office staff lies to head and the head thinks she is a bove the law every child I've talked to hate the school and there is all negative things in the school no positive things so I think it needs to understand the pupils needs and stop running it as a prison start treating the kids and parents with respect then the staff might get respect

Not a great school, but has potential

I would not send my kids here. To start off the leadership team and principal have severe authority issues. The principal rules over teachers, staff and parents. Many times in class, teachers have mentioned to students about how the principal can’t let the teachers do basic things (go to the bathroom, get let out for break a minute or early, handing in books etc.) or they will be told off and belittled at by the principal.

The school also does not allow you use your phones at any time during school, you have to get the school backpack just like everyone (which are very expensive), there are excessive rules about socks, jackets, skirts etc. You are not allowed to wear anything to keep warm during peak winter unless you are outside- which would be a reasonable rule, except for the fact that there are barley any heaters within the school.

We have been told to reuse all of our books from this year for the following years to come as they can’t afford to buy any more books for students. Many students are now working on random scraps of paper for the rest of this school year as the school can’t supply them with any more books (even though we have only used one book this school year)

The c2 system is terrible. Many students get sent out of their classrooms because of talking, being distracting etc. These students then get sent to another class, and distract everyone in that class too, which doesn’t solve anything.

I know of at-least 6 teachers who have left this school in the past school year as it is not enjoyable for them, many of them have expressed their dislike for the school to their students prior to them randomly quitting and leaving.

The schools safety is often challenged. Many students have expressed how they don’t feel safe at school, when there are always people fighting, people jumping over the fence or lingering around after school. There are often police outside the school, which should help.

I could go on, but won’t. Can’t wait till I leave this school

I can't believe I'm a student here

To be completely honest, I didn't want to go to Christ's College. I just came here because I heard a lot of my friends were going. And I regret it.

Firstly, I'm not threatening or trying to make the school look bad, I'm just going off my own experiences.
The first thing I wanted to talk about was the food, it is insanely overpriced. And it started before inflation. Its literally £1.20 for some chips. JUST CHIPS IN A LITTLE CARDBOARD BOX! No sauce or anything. And the juice in a bottle is £1.00. Like, not all of us are rich ok? I cannot tell you how many times I've run out of money at this place. Next is the safety.
Overall, it's fairly bad. There are people breaking in, fighting behind the school, carrying knifes and vaping in the toilets. Not to mention, there is a big construction bit in the middle of the hallway on the first floor. And they didn't even bother to close it up. They just put signs. So while we're in lessons, we have to breathe in potentially toxic fumes from out in the hallway. It stinks like hell. Next is the teachers.
The teachers aren't that bad. Except a lot of them are quitting because of the state of the school. Which means we have a crazy amount of strike days and substitutes. Some of them are too strict ( I'm not going to say who). And one of them actually sent me to IER just because I defended myself while being called homophobic slurs on a WhatsApp groupchat. And the person saying the slurs didn't even get in trouble! It is unfair and not worth it.
If you want your child to go to a school where you have no personality, ( we have to wear all the same bags and uniform, and even socks!) Also no safety, and highly overpriced, this seems like the school for you. I just started this school and I cannot wait until I leave.

Don’t send your child to this school!

As a former student of Christ’s college ashamed of even attending the school . The school has done nothing but given unfair treatment towards students and aren’t able to deal with students or difficult situations. When going to speak to teachers about something you’d like to discuss or bring forward to them teachers simply don’t try help students or help any situations they would like to sort out they simply try ignore or brush it aside .They tell all students to be unique yet all students must wear the same bag and look identical rather caring about the students wellbeing there more focused on your child’s appearance. Lastly the layout of the schools done very poorly the inside is almost like carpark.

Don’t send your kids here

I am a current student at this school and what I have seen is poor schooling to be quite frank. When it is hot you cannot refill your water bottle in class. When it is cold you cannot wear a coat or hoodie into school unless it is the schools one.

My sister was in the school when some traveller kids jumped over the fence and beat someone up. This was not at my time and not with the current headmaster but the safety of the school can be questionable sometimes.

It is a horrific school and I wouldn’t send my kids here. The only good thing is the teachers but they are made to do things the head wants them to.

Christ's Cloning Factory, Guildford

As a former student at Christ's College Guildford, I can confidently say that I am quite frankly ashamed to have ever been affiliated with such the disgusting, radical, dictatorial, hierarchical establishment.

Don't get me wrong, but when I first joined Christ's College Guildford, it was in fact a decent school. Dare I say, it was even ranked within a list of some of the top schools in Surrey.

However, the retirement of one specific principal pathed way for a series of drastic changes, which included an up-to-date unsatisfactory report from Ofsted and a brand new power-hungry principal with severe authority issues.

Speaking on behalf of my experiences at the school, both the governors and the leadership team need to have a long, hard think about the endless flaws in the effectiveness of their management of the school.

For a start, they need to get their act together and realise that the students, the parents and the teachers do not like what is happening. I will not specify whom, but I had a teacher quit his job after explaining to us that he was sick to the back teeth of the school's poor leadership.

GCSE results are at a low, with the school being now one of the worst in Surrey, after the infamously inadequate Kings College, which is a far cry from all the praise, glitter and sparkles that was given five years prior.

When making decisions, the students and the teachers should at least have a sense of power – an opportunity to voice their opinion. Christ's College Guildford is a school, NOT a dictatorship, and I honestly don't think that the current principal understands this concept.

For example, the ludicrous idea of identical bags for all students was introduced last year. For a school whose motto is "Every child is individual and made in the image of God" or something along those lines, then why introduce bags which strip students of every fragment of personal identity?

May I also add that these shoddy bags are ridiculously expensive, particularly for any parents who are on a tight budget. Being lower on the income scale is typically the reason why parents decide to send their children to state schools, so why steal whatever money these parents DO have?

Quite literally 98% of students opposed the idea of identical bags, yet the majority was ignored and the remaining five or so people who actually did support the idea were brainwashed into filming a speech about how amazing the school is to be uploaded as propaganda onto their website.

It's easy to question the excuses behind the plethora of pathetic, narrow-minded, arrogant decisions made by this school, but it's even easier to see that they are just worthless, moronic and extremely destructive attempts to ensure the school a minuscule bit of extra profit, despite it being a government-funded state school.

Surely, if the leadership team cares that much about money, they'd actually spend it on resources that aid with learning. During my time at the school, the only evidence of money being spent is the pitiful, useless, irrelevant "food shack" which they've sloppily knocked up outside. Does this encourage learning in any way? No.

To conclude, I'm afraid to say that this miserable, grim, godforsaken place is a giant uncoordinated mess. As stated, the leadership team is pig-ignorant and think they are superior to children and parents, having the audacity to shove vile decisions down the throats of anybody who doesn't flaunt a patronising "CLT" badge.

If you are considering becoming a student here (or sending your children here) forget it! You're better off going elsewhere if you wish to value your five years of secondary education.

Thank God I'm no longer part of this wretched institution. At least now I can actually be "individual and made in the image of God" – and not one of your little, manipulated, robotic clones.

Yours sincerely,
A student who despised every minute of studying at Christ's College Guildford

Why does this school exist

The head teacher there is awful, the resources are so scarce and they are constantly getting in new teachers as the previous ones always leave as it’s so bad.
The classrooms are chaos.

Some of the teachers who actually bother staying are amazing though. And the theatre is pretty incredible.
