Christ The King Voluntary Academy

Honestly? This school is awful coming from someone who has been in this hell since year 7. To any parents reading this i highly suggest you not to take your child to this school, especially if they are prone to bullying or have any kind of learning disability. Let me show you why CTK does NOT CARE.
Firstly my precious list of negatives:
1: Hires anyone. And i mean it.
They are the type of people to literally grab a homeless person from the streets and bribe them a couple of bucks and boom you have a substitute teacher. Most substitute teachers are outright awful and seriously look like they are here for the money. And plus when you get your time table (what lessons you have and whom you have with) it feels like rigged Russian roulette. You either get the most strict, god forbiddenly awful teacher (either they are strict or they just cant teach properly) most of the time or you get an actually good teacher only to find out they are leaving after 2 months.
2: Failing to Deal With Behaviour
“Yeah this school is pretty well behaved” LIES. I’ve seen countless things like bullying, fights (eg student versus students and i even seen a kid shove a teacher once) kids getting removed every single period, and even kids allegedly selling inappropriate things like literal KNIVES. While that is going on lets yap about attendance and behaviour as if we do anything about it. “Oh yeah lets do weekly behaviour briefings” and it’s about uniform. The only time they do something about it is when about 300 kids see an incident. And they do the briefing about that and they say “oh no fighting bad” and then punish kids for self defence which i will yap about in the third section. Getting a detention for an untucked shirt is genuinely stupid.
3: Not supporting bullying victims
Oh boy don't even get me started. This is the main reason why many students including me suffer here. Let me tell you a little story. One time this kid (who i will not be naming for privacy) was bullying me. After a few weeks of both physical and verbal bullying i reported it to the school. What does the school do? NOTHIN’ CUZ CTK DOESNT CARE. Then i start to get injuries from the bullying. Still doesn't do anything. They were even cyber bullying me and my parents sent screenshots to the school. It was getting to the point i had to isolate from my friends that hung out with him or a cycle of pain continues. Until one day (since the school didnt do anything) i fought back. Guess who got in trouble. If you said me and the bully: YOU GOT IT RIGHT! But you might be wondering? What was the punishment? An apology. Im gonig to say it again. AN APOLOGY. 6 months of the trilogy of bullying (physical verbal and cyber) only to be told to ‘say sorry’ and i had to say sorry bad and pretend everything was sunshine and rainbows. And the teachers get mad at me for not reporting it. And many other people have experienced it too. They try to use excuses like “oh we got other problems to deal with!” But this has been on going for months. Minimum punishment for the bully should be at least a day of isolation. And the problem is probably something like “jimmy threw a banana peel at me and it made a tiny mark on my left toe”
4: Bad maintenance
Sometimes the school reeks of literal poo for hours. Thats because pipe leaks happen because they cant be bothered. Speaking of poo there was poo on the floor once. Nobody came to clean it so the poor teacher had to well… clean it themselves. The bathrooms are disgraceful. Now im not talking about ‘roadmen’ hanging about scrolling and making tiktoks im talking about baby oil being poured everywhere, poo stains on the walls, broken sinks that are on their final breath. BLACK. MOLD. COVERING HALF OF THE BATHROOM. And by the way the year 7/8 boys bathroom have been closed for a year and they still haven’t re opened it. Don't ask how.
Now the only positive: the food.
You find various different types of foods from across the world. Its funny that they put more effort into food that the actual education. Unless you want slightly burnt pizza, jacket potato or sandwiches. Not much to say here.
In summary, this school has bad teachers that only care about punishment and not the well being and education of students. Also you have to hold in your pee for hours because all you see is the bathroom being painted. Please stay away from this school at all costs. Thank you for your time.

Poor leadership, poor teachers that can't seperate their own egos against being professional and using unbiased common sense. School meal options are Terrible at best. School in need of reinvestment structurally. 4/10 with regards to my children that attend this cult led school. Lots of bullying and teachers can't control the classrooms so give punishments to the wrong children. I expected alot better but am not suprised.

Although they promote good behaviour, it is rarely shown. If people do not show good behaviour, their attitude towards learning and towards other students becomes normalised, and are faced with no punishments regarding their faults (even if physical). Also, the teaching needs improvement. They also do not focus on those who are excelling, but those who are disrupting constantly, making the lesson basically a whole rant about one student, or sometimes even their personal life (mostly bringing up how much they work and completely disregarding the mental strain of school work for those who do and dont struggle). Also, I have found it constantly occurring that tests are marked wrongly - as they do not count scores up properly, or mark you wrong, and frustratingly will not change your mark.

The schools is okay. They are focused on the behaviour that no one follows anyways and instead they should focus on the quality of their education. The school environment could be better. I reccomend this school if your child can get on well with the studies independently.
