Wouldn't recommend

Not very good school if your quiet and an introvert with bad anxiety, most of the teachers were really good however the kind teachers the students would take advantage of that and mess around and there's a few times teachers have cried over the students actions and carelessness in lessons. Quite a few students have been rumoured to doing drugs. I've had one friend who was shoved out of the lunch queue by a teacher once while i I was next to him. I got bullied by a few people at my time at this school however I was one of the lucky ones as some people had the whole year group gang upon them. I remember in year 9 I got told to kill myself by a lad after I didn't help him with the work/give him a pen. I remember countless times where I would always be left out during lessons by students purposely excluding me or when I was just left on my own. I made a few good friends from the school however lost loads. I had a one of my friends report his bullying to the school and they didn't do anything and didn't stop. Me and one of my other friends got bullied by this girl for years. The teachers always seemed to prioritise the popular kids always give them awards when they didn't misbehave for one week when I'd never got a detention and got less awards than them somehow lol the favouritism is clearly there so wouldn't recommend unless u are a sociable person with thick skin. I still go to this school and its gotten a bit better as most of the people who were horrible have gone but a few remain and I barely see them but still left out a lot and they don't deal with bullying any better now.

Cool teachers, cruel students

So, where do I begin? Lets start with the positive. I really adore my teachers there, they were great people and were always really supportive towards me and my friends. The performing arts facilities were great, and I do have some good memories from drama club in year 7/9.

However, despite this, the students weren't great, to say the least. Coppice is a primarily white school, and being one of the few indians there, it wasn't the best experience. I don't think I'll ever forget the time when I was walking home with my brother, and some girls from the year group below began screaming racial slurs at us, or the time that a white boy told me to shut up in an indian accent after asking whether I needed to hear it in my own language.

Another point would be the bullying. The whole student body acted as though we existed in some kind of bad high school movie. You had the whole cliques there: the populars, the drama nerds, the jocks, and of course, the outcasts. Me and my friends fell into the last category, due to our small numbers and the fact that we liked hanging out with the science and sometimes the english teachers. Kids there could be cruel: I've lost count of the number of times my voice had been knocked by not only my own year group, but boys in the year above. I'd break down and cry sometimes when they imitated me, yet no one noticed, nobody cared, even if I showed up to class in tears. Like I literally started sobbing in maths class one time and no one noticed. This isn't even the beginning. After reaching out to other students who weren't the most popular, I found out that A LOT of kids have had similar experiences and hated the students there too. Luckily we're all out of there now, but I still have a two friends there who I still hear things from (e.g, the new head girl questioning "why isn't there a white history month"? Might wanna educate her about that a bit...). Once when I spoke against a bully and said something mean back to her, she reported me and I ended up getting into trouble. The teachers higher up seemed to adore the cruel popular people, and thought little towards the students who genuinely needed help.
So, to conclude: if you're white, social and have a very thick skin, Coppice seems to be the place for you!
