Year 7 and 8

I’m currently at Year 8 in Ellis Guilford. It isnt a good school. All whilst I’ve been here they don’t care about your safety and they’re more focused on if you have the right color socks than your education. Not only that but there are a lot of fights here and nobody tries stopping them.

Violence

a lot of violence and racism, the teachers do not have an attitude towards violent children, they even favor them and are punished by threatening with expulsion all the children who are victims

L school don’t go

James girling if you’re reading this you need to swap jobs. This school is horrendous, I’ve been here 4 years and have learnt nothing… the first 2 years were okay and it was a fresh start however after year 8 it got bad. The teachers don’t care, they exclude you for anything, the receptionists are rude and the teachers don’t help. They don’t listen to what the children suggest and they lie to the parents. They snatch phone out of hands even after the child has said no to taking it off them.

Ellis Guilford school

Overall school review 2018-2023

Well, the school is rubish for starters, i have been hear 5 years the first two years was an abosult mess, however the teachers was very nice and kind other then that food teacher Mrs Costin she gave me a red card for not bringing an apple for a fruit salad. the first year was alright we had breakfast break and lunch most of the food was always nice and we was always allowed on the grass. then year 8 came after a while this is when i started to notice all the rewards was rigged and only year 7s win because they want to make the school seem good to younger kids. year 8 was ok it was quite fun however Mrs Muford was always mean to me :(. we had a new headteacher there that had big asperation to fix the school but realistically how can he fix a school when he cant fix his own hairline. THEN covid came we was sent home for a week then big bojo gave us a lockdown, the school gave me no work to do and slacked off a bit and realistically gave the teachers an nice 3 month holiday. we came back in year 9 stuck on the D floor which i had to walk 4 flights of stairs to get to, each year was getting worse and worse and no rewards at the end of it. all the nice teachers was leaving. the year 9 period was a death trap my legs broke having to walk up and down the stairs every hour even tho we didn't have to change class. year 9 went pretty quick then onto year 10, we still had line up but everything went back to normal and we had our own year zones. the crappy muddy astro place it was horrible all wet and muddy the food got horrible the school was getting worse they teachers care more about the bad kids and the good kids was neglected we kinda forgot about the rest so onto year 11 it was very fun our last year a lot of stress as normnal its sad to see the school doing its best in our final year i wish it was like this forever and all my previous years. THE STAFF - they removed all the good good teachers and replaced them with fresh out of school people who cant teach and half of them wonder around on patrol all day. ACTIVIYS - there is no school trips and it no proper rewards only the year 7s win and not us in the higher years, Prom is a waste we've been told to gain 900 positives to go but some people don't want to go so they earned all those points for nothing. FOOD- the food s horrible getting worse always chicken burgers and greasy food where the healthiness and happy mental health salads to increase our happiness. SAFTY- bloody el where do i start all we get told is safety this safety that we've had enough of it were always being told since year7 we should focus on thing things, yes its helpful but we have it to much. EDUCATION - learning is getting better however there is still loads of low level disruptions. there is no clubs like steam anymore and the teachers just wanna go home, the reception staff and rude when you speak to them, my phone was wrongly taken and the staff was rude when i asked them poiley for it and i had a teacher tell them it should have it back and they refused which made me miss a train because my ticket was on my phone that i proved i had.
now to snitch on somethings - the back gate is so small and is easy to jump over, there is a small gap on the grass fence. and not to forget how many vapes people bring in to school there's so many people they need to be removed off them,

overall in my opinion this school is getting better and better our new head teacher has done more for the school then anyone in the past 4 years, all the staff in the higher departments who work with the headteacher such as Mr leaver is always helpful and always listen to suggestions. This school has an amazing team to help us prepare for collage. but there is so many dutty students who litter all over the school. the biggest issue is the alternative for people who don't like the idea of prom and to give us real work experience.

Sickening.

Just going to say that none of them care for the students mental health and are suffering depression and anxiety. There hasn’t been one day where my child can walk in a room without being offended or forced to do something by other students.

My point of veiw

Hello, i am a year 8 at Ellis guilford school! My experiences here are mixed with good and bad, I got a C2 (20 min punishment after school) the other day for lack of effort. I don't understand why, I was in dance and i helped my group, my teacher knows that usually I wont do anything, if it wasn't her it might've been in food tech.. either way i didn't go. The school meals are absolutely delicious so this is a shoutout to the cooks i love how they put music on, its so funny. The cleaners are so kind and they care about the students. Most teachers such as: Mr. Wingfield, Miss. Hardstaff, Miss. Greenshields, Miss. Linton, Mr. Legg, Miss. Measures, Miss. Evans (in science), Mr. Mceag (sorry if i spelt it wrong),Miss. Smith and so much more are such wonderful teachers! But, just one small problem.. or should i say BIG problem, the bad teachers I wouldn't say that they suck at teaching but, some are just mean and strict and don't understand the students feelings at all. Now that, that is over I want to talk about homework, its under compete understanding that it is within law to do it, but, the chromebooks are rubbish, not that they are broken or anything, but that the passwords keep getting reset by whoever is doing it, I cant even log onto seneca, and there was nothing wrong with class charts, now I lost my password for arbor and its not helping that i'm getting pressured by teachers to do it or I am in for a C2 some teachers wont listen to what the students have to say, some however, they care and give us time to compete it, the school needs a suggestion box for students to agree on what the headteacher and his team decide to change about the school, in year 7 it was so simple but now that they have changed a lot of things its kind of hard to keep up, I mean.. I can barley log onto my chromebook. No school is perfect and that is fine this school is so modern and nice and its a good place to go to, I am just hoping that the headteacher will read this, and if you are your doing your job well, a bit too well, the students need a bit of a break to catch up with a few more things and i have spoke to a few people who go to this school and they agree, I love this school so much but it is really hard to keep up for now. And once again, the learning and food and teachers are all wonderful and i recommend for people who are in year six to come to this school!

School

Not a great school at all, always has teachers coming and going so students learn near to nothing. We are treated differently bc of our academic levels, and the smarter ones get favourite 2/10 DONT send your kids here

Rude and a joke

Some Reception staff are rude, slams the phone down when I've not even finished talking, they don't do anything about the kids that don't bother to attend, but if you child has a day off sick, well strike me down they send a letter and ring you even if your child is usually always at school and not late, and is generally a good student, and don't get me started on the PE department a detention for have a small tick on your buttons, a verbal warning for not having your kit but have a sick note it's backwards...

Ellis Guildford

We’re do I start, I learnt nothing at that school. The teachers cared more about the students that missed behaved. They also cared nothing about the safety of there students. Having been there the amount of people I seen being bullied is unreal, if you want you kid to have the worst experience they could have at a school then send them to Ellis. Don’t get me wrong there was a few good teachers at Ellis however, they was out numbered by the worst. I knew teachers that would have behaviour points took of students because they knew there family, how pathetic. I would rather my son be dead then sent to that mess of a scoop

Try and avoid

Some of the teachers are nice but the “no bullying” system is bs. I feel bad for my younger brother who still has to go there. They are terrible with communication too. Go to another school if possible.

Avoid the school at all costs

No words can describe it it’s terrible they let students bully other students but then said to your parents that they’ve dealt with it
