Horrible school

Family member of mine was beaten up and ganged up on by 20 pupils and my family member was alone walking out to the gates before they even reached the gates they was beaten up they called for a teacher but they “didnt hear anything or see anything” whilst there was a massive group of people surrounding them, the pupils that done this only got 2 lessons worth isolating and my family member was expected to go to school whilst the pupils could walk around after there second lesson off isolation was done. The school lead to say they cannot help if there is issues outside of school though but when my family member walked into them in town by accident the teacher reported it to the school and they got a DAYS worth of isolation. An experience of mine when i was at this school not long ago i didnt remove my ring (that i kept on for my sensory issues that i did state to the teacher) sent me to isolation for a week because i did not remove my ring within 10 seconds when i just brought food from the canteen so my hands were full, but the pupils get a two lesson isolation period for beating someone up and making them feel unsafe. The teachers do not have the patience even with students with special needs. Speaking to other pupils that attend/have attended this school state its ruined there mental health, so please think twice about your child's safety an education.

They need to focus on teaching and not students appearance.

As a student that went to the school, it defiantly needs to start focusing on more important things. I went to the school through the years 7-11 and it's no secret that the school focuses more on students physical appearance then actually teaching them. Instead of focusing on students learning and the amount of teachers absent or the mass amount of supply teachers during GCSE periods, which obviously results in students not getting the proper education they need, they focused more on how a student would express themselves, claiming its "preparing us for work environments". However by saying a student cannot have coloured hair as it wouldn't be appropriate in work settings was quite ironic considering teachers at that school had coloured hair themselves. Same about jewellery and false nails. Even one time on a non school uniform day, a friend of mine came in wearing a V-neck shaped top, she was told to her face by a teacher that what she is wearing is inappropriate, when asked why, the teacher replied saying "it's distracting and not fair to male teachers". So how about instead of degrading a 15 year old girl for having a body she cannot control, why don't you focus on not sexualising an underage child and allowing older men to look at her in such a way. Same can now be said about mental health, the school would constantly preach out how mental health is important, yet if you was to take a mental health day off, suddenly they no longer care. Not to mention SLT members not being educated enough on different forms of mental health issues. Speaking from experience, I was having a panic attack once and a member of SLT claimed I wasn't as if I was I would be "rolling around on the floor in agony" which is completely wrong. After I refused to go back to lesson despite me doing my work in student services because of my panic attack, they then put me in isolation for refusal. When I left year 11, I went to a collage while some of my friends went to the sixth form and all i've heard is nothing but bad stuff. Teachers not even teaching lessons, work load and homework being overwhelming and loads more. Not to mention the new dress coded now being put in place, banning hoodies, leggings, joggers and even trainers, claiming it will make students look smarter and the sixth form look better, when in reality all it is doing is showing the school does not care about how a student may wish to express themselves or be comfy while learning. As someone who goes to a collage, students here are allowed to wear ANYTHING. We are allowed to wear hoodies, skirts, whatever shoes we like, belly tops and even our PJs if we wish. The collage has no issue with this as they understand students being comfortable and having the freedom to choose what THEY wear on THEIR body is best. We are also allowed as much jewellery we'd like, any hair colour and false nails. Even the teachers here wear leggings, hoodies and other items of clothing. So I do defiantly think this schools needs to actually focus on teaching the students well instead of removing their freedom of expression.

2023 and nothing much has changed at Felixstowe School.

Little or no thought by the school to bullying or student welfare. Classes in chaos due to disruptive pupils, weak teachers with no control. An absolute rubbish school leaving students with very little choice when looking at further education.

Not recommend this school

Awful.
My son is unhappy , badly treated by the most of the teachers. I am being ignored as a parent when I sent emails or ask questions or have different requests. It's unbelievably horrible school. I hope to get a place into another school for my son sooer rather then later.

My experience with Felixstowe academy

I was a student at that school some of the teachers was so good but others was the worst. I have bad anxiety and they never helped. I used to get bullied at that school in yr7 a yr 10 said they would beat me up and I told a teacher and somehow it was my fault like how?? In 2020 I dropped out in yr11 to do homeschool and Felixstowe academy tried to sue us so we said see you in court and they dropped it. They lied to the college I go too. They knew I wanted to do media and lied to my media teacher so we had to go in to see my media teacher and show them my books and lucky enough I even had a half finished edit I showed that to my media teacher and she was so proud! PLEASE NEVER SEND YOUR KIDS TO FELIXSTOWE ACADEMY!! They don’t even help with mental health

Shocking

I don’t recommend this school at all most teachers just care about themselves and their money they don’t care about their students at all , bullying is a huge issue , and some of the kids are just awful , there’s only a few teachers at that school that are genuine and lovely
