the school system isn’t great, my younger sibling had undiagnosed dyslexia and post childhood trauma from their primary school. My mum asked in year 7 to get her tested as dyslexia commonly runs in my family, they refused and refused to help her at all. When she was in year 10, she opened up to her English teacher for help (as we all knew she was dyslexia as we tested her against my dyslexia older brother). The SENCO then shouted at her for asking for help and told her teachers not to help her. My mum then had to pay over £250 to get her a Dyslexia test (the results was positive). Now shes just getting help in the last 9 months of her school life. And having endless meetings with the school making sure their sticking to there word (what the don’t do often)
This was terrible school, and they are so bad for bullying. The staff are not helpful at all with this and the environment is absolutely horrible to be in. The school grounds are absolutely filthy and covered in dirt. The sanitary bins in the toilets are always overflowing and the soap machines are empty leaving us with nothing to wash are hands with. The teachers are absolutely completely unfair
And the PE teacher touches people without permission.
Having had a first-hand experience of this school it is laughable to call it a safe, supportive or enjoyable environment. The student support for bullying is one of the worst I have ever witnessed having seen multiple kids being forced out of the school system due to a failure of the pastoral support team.
I wholeheartedly apologise to all the kids this school failed due to incompetence and negligence.
Extreme problems with bullying. I had one good teacher who supported me, but most were dismissive or even joined in. Furthermore, there was a huge culture of anti-intellectualism; teachers just could not comprehend that I was trying to get into a competitive university course and constantly laughed at me for wanting to study.
It isn’t a good school but it isn’t bad
It’s just average but the equipment isn’t good and isn’t enough to be sufficient.
They treat bullying if told about but they don’t even try and help minorities and help their struggles
Their mental health help is bare minimum and doesn’t help at all
Wouldn’t recommend
Awful at dealing with bullying, I remember a kid in my year was clearly very autistic and my science teacher just yelled at him for everything he did, plus he was getting bullied. Also PE teacher is known for pinning a boy against the wall, tackling another boy to the ground and forcing a pupil on crutches to litter pick.
