Pathetic💀

I've been a student at this school for a while now and I wanna say that the rules here are the most exaggerated thing I've ever seen. They have a really huge problem with students wearing hoodies/cardigans etc on top of their uniforms which is always reasoned with "it's a distraction" even though no one really cares what you wear and no one gets "distracted" by it. Then there's a thing about shoes and how they have to be FULLY black and if they have any little amount of color on them then you get a 20 minute detention. The only thing they've changed about shoes is that now you can wear trainers as well instead of only school shoes. I'm sorry but that's just incredibly pathetic. Right now it's literally freezing since we're getting close to winter but they still don't allow students to wear coats or hoodies in class because "it's not part of the school uniform". Another thing is that students aren't allowed phones AT ALL in school, not even at lunch or break which they still didn't give a reason for but somehow teachers are allowed to use their phones whenever they want to which is really unfair and stupid. To be really honest the only good thing about this school is some of the genuinely good and fun teachers which are incredibly rare to find because the majority of them love handing out detentions as if it's their hobby and it's never for good reasons either. It's even starting to look like they're doing it for fun at this point💀. In PE they give everyone a max of around 5 minutes to change and if they don't then they're going to be rushed by teachers. In PE I've had thousands of moments when I genuinely couldn't take part because I was on my period or was feeling sick and when I would tell the FEMALE teacher she would ask me to give her a note from my mum for proof that I actually can't do it and then tell me that running around like a maniac helps with cramps? I'm the one experiencing discomfort so therefore they should believe me when I tell them I can't do it and not give me information that I obviously don't relate to (referring to the cramps bit). If you wanna send your student to this school then I advise you not to at all. Crappy school.

POORLY TRAINED STAFF POOR SCHOOL.

Disgsuting school, has no control over the children. My younger brother was attacked by several children that we had already reported for bullying, the headteacher has refused to do operate with us regarding this, shoved us out of the school and refused to sort the bullying out after it happening on several occasions. The receptionists are extremely rude and are unprofessional. Disgusting school, disgusting and poorly trained staff. Poorly trained headteacher. AVOID SENDING YOUR CHILDREN THIS SCHOOL AT ALL COSTS. It has NEVER changed even when I went there from 2012-2017 was the same.

Pattern up mates

I have just previously left the school and if i had to describe it in a single word it would be absolutely terrible. The food is trash (except Jacket potato, my bae) , the teachers are racist and biased and next their gonna tell me i cant wear my skin when im doing PE like cmon mate chill. Its really silly how they do all these things. I actually wanted to leave but my house is closer this school and my legs dont work after 5 minutes. Bye bye :)

SEN parents beware

If your child has any special educational needs (SEN) or medical issues, please do not consider sending them to this school.
The school talks the talk. They sell you the dream of the perfect establishment to educate your child,
"zero tolerance to bullying",
"help on hand if needed",
"counseling offered",
"needs met".
It's all lies.
My son started in year 7 at the Fosse Campus in 2021. They were made aware that he was awaiting a neurodevelopmental assessment which takes time due to long waiting lists (I am still waiting and it can take a minimum of 2-3 years).
Their attitude is "no diagnosis, no real help" despite their own SENCO writing a report on my child's struggles and GP letters documenting the process.
During the year my son attended, he:

was repeatedly told his handwriting was unacceptable despite them knowing he couldn't help it (due to a motor skill condition he is awaiting diagnosis for),

was threatened with detentions for not being able to change for PE within 6 minutes (again, the motor skill issue he is awaiting diagnosis for),

was in sensory overload every day due to the loud classrooms and constant shouting by teachers who punish everyone for the actions of a few,

is asthmatic and ended up very unwell when it was -3 winter temperatures and windows had to remain open due to COVID, however, they were not allowed to wear coats on campus whatsoever (although teachers could). He was even told he couldn't wear the plain black scarf or black fingerless gloves he had on in an effort to stay warm,

was showered in sandwiches when a group of children decided to throw their packed lunches at him,

was berated numerous times when asking for help with something or told he "should've listened the first time" if he was struggling to understand a task (again, something he genuinely can't help),

was humiliated in class by a teacher when he read aloud his work. The teacher stopped him in his tracks and accused him of plagiarism because "someone like him wasn't capable of writing something like that".
They later found the teacher at fault (after chasing it up numerous times), and said he would "apologise" but never did. Apparently, he didn't realise my child was "smart",

was given a 5 minute "time out" pass for when he felt overwhelmed which isn't worth the paper they print it on because teachers did not let him use it properly,

had to walk past graffiti comparing him to "feces" on an electrical box next to the school,

and finally, was told to go and kill himself by online bullies.

This last event was the final straw for me as my son was so incredibly miserable and unhappy.
His mental health was rapidly declining and he began to hurt himself physically.
I had to seek help from CAHMS because he felt worthless and genuinely thought the whole school including the teachers hated him and wanted him "gone".
He is only 12 years old.
They wouldn't even authorise his absence for this until I quoted attendance guidance rules.
Apparently, wanting to die wasn't a good enough reason initially.

Good luck trying to get an appointment with anyone to discuss matters.
Emails and phone calls remain ignored and you are gaslit constantly.
The constant rhetoric was,
"we didn't know".
Yes they did. They just do not communicate with each other or bother to read letters they are sent.

All they care about is numbers and statistics. A child's wellbeing is the least of their priorities.

I have removed my child from this school. He has started a new one and in his first 2 days, his new school have done more for him in terms of support and understanding than Fullhurst ever did in the year he was there.

My child actually smiles when he comes home now. He is finally happy.

dumb and stupid

so so bad. i went there up until last year june/july and from what i’ve heard it’s gotten worse. they’ve become way more controlling, especially with the uniform. i remember there was an incident when the pe teachers had tried to ban cycling shorts because they were ‘inappropriate’ and too tight… maybe the teachers shouldn’t be sexualising my body then… turns out this wasn’t even approved by the head of year, as i went to her to complain (in the uniform code we have to wear sport shorts and cycling shorts are sport shorts) and she had no idea about it. the teacher who had tried to enforce the rule, Mr. Kamp, is actually also the youngest of the pe teachers. Mr Modi became the head of health and safety or smthn about covid and didn’t even follow his own guidelines. when everyone was back at school, he would walk around his classroom (teachers had to stay in a box at the front of the room), would sit next to the students to help them and be using THEIR keyboard… DURING PEAK COVID… AS THE HEAD OF HEALTH AND SAFETY THINGY. almost all of the teachers had very obvious favourites. certain students were ‘protected’ by all of the teachers. one student had gotten excluded 2 weeks before we finished. they were walking out of the school after the incident that caused the exclusion, very obviously distressed and the teachers tried to ask them to come inside to discuss said exclusion, however after refusing the teachers just went ahead excluded them without any prior behaviour meetings, no steps towards improving behaviour, nothing. my sister attends the new building and didn’t have any proper school shoes for a couple of days. the teachers took out some of the students without acceptable shoes from their lesson, to shout at them. last time i checked year 7’s aren’t usually responsible for buying they're own school shoes. my sisters friend had an incident where the teachers went through her phone?! in what world is that acceptable, no matter the situation. that is a complete breach of confidentiality and completely unacceptable. the school doesn’t even allow phones out (this student did not have their phone out at all) so to go through a students phone ( i will mention i’m pretty sure they had parental permission but this isn’t the parents phone and still shouldn’t be allowed) is just ridiculous. do not send your kids to this school, majority teachers abuse their power (apart from miss russel-smith give her a raise rn!), they discuss student drama with other students, it’s poorly run and i don’t have a clue how they got a good ofsted rating

Teachers comfortable. Students uncomfortable.

I’m in year 11. And they changed the school uniform Because it made the teachers feel uncomfortable on what girls mostly wore. They also changed shoes, and some of us can’t even afford shiny polish shoes.
I was sent home on the first day of year 11 because of the new uniform. But by changing the uniform they made themselves feel comfortable, but all of their students uncomfortable. They stopped me from learning just because of uniform. The way students dress shouldn’t have anything to do with learning, the teachers were all creepy anyways and some gained inappropriate names because of rumours that I now believe are true.
Fullhurst used to be a place where you could.. just be themselves. and now the unfortunate were separated by those lucky people who managed to get in (only half of the school managed to get in) but They shoved us of like rats..
I don’t have any good memories from that school but I did enjoy learning. And now I can’t do that until I get myself “sorted out”.
