am writing to express my profound disappointment and regret over the experience my child and our family have had with Harris Academy Greenwich. Choosing this school was one of the most critical decisions I made for my child’s future, but sadly, it has turned out to be a deeply distressing and disheartening journey.
Throughout my child’s time at the school, I made numerous efforts to reach out for support regarding their mental health and overall well-being. I repeatedly requested appropriate interventions, training, and pastoral care. Despite these pleas, the response from both teaching staff and the school’s management was persistently unsupportive and dismissive. At times, I felt completely ignored, as if my concerns were not worth addressing.
The most painful part of this experience was seeing my child gradually become isolated and unsupported by the very institution that was supposed to nurture and guide them. Instead of receiving the help they desperately needed, my child was referred to early study leave — a decision that felt more like a way to remove a problem than to solve it.
To make matters worse, I made a heartfelt request for my child to be allowed to celebrate their leavers’ day and attend prom — a milestone moment in any young person’s life. I even found myself practically begging for this small acknowledgment of their time at the school. Not only was this request ignored, but I never received any response, not even the courtesy of a reply. This lack of empathy and basic human decency was heartbreaking.
No parent wants to watch their child suffer in silence or feel like an outsider in a place where they are meant to belong. My child’s confidence has been significantly impacted by this experience, and I can only hope to help them heal from the emotional neglect they endured at Harris Academy.
I hope this letter serves as a call for reflection and change. No student should ever feel invisible, unsupported, or abandoned — especially not in a school environment
Don't bother bringing your Asian children here they will get bullied mercilessly. The 2 pastoral teachers there at the moment don't do anything about bullying. I've already got a Google review for this school.
Teachers are rude and don’t care about the children’s well-being. Fights break out and teachers don’t stop it. Not very good lessons. Ban of phones wasn’t very good either. School is always either hot or cold and the windows don’t open.
