Students are absolutely cruel

I have had 2 students from here tell another girl too slit there wrists and rape them and family. They should be taught better

Not as it appears on open events

My daughter is doing her GCSE’s and has had her education constantly disrupted by taking her out of class, isolated and suspended because of sanctions which were, skirt rolled up, coat worn in school, nail varnish, make up and the having a teeny tiny helix piercing that cannot be seen. Also, not completing homework when she tried but found it difficult.
She isn’t disruptive in class but gets isolated and suspended because she incurred so many detentions from sanctions.
One or two teachers are nice but the majority of the senior ( head of years etc ) are awful and my daughter wants to leave because she feels she is being bullied by some of these teachers. Clearly the school are only interested in very brights grade 9 students and how their school looks and appearances.
What has really annoyed me is that they don’t treat all students the same. There are plenty of students that have more than more piercing or wear make up or roll up their skirt above their knee but the same sanctions as they give my daughter are not given to them
If my daughter has the day off due to not being well, I’m told that her education is suffering but they can pull her out of classes every day and isolate and suspend her for having an extra piercing where it doesn’t show.
Invicta are only interested in students that don’t open their mouth, and are hight achievers

Grade- F

This school gives a ridiculous amount of sanction and acts like they’re poor they care too much about little things no wonder a girl in my class in only year 7 got suspended 3 times. The teachers have favourites and make it very obvious by comparing us. Some teachers can’t teach and one who was coughing aggressively during my end of year exam gave me covid. The food is too expensive and a girl ( white ) said the N word and didn’t get in trouble they are so racist and my friend got food poisoning from the canteen. I would not recommend it at all - appalling as so many people leave in the first year.

Scam School

Invicta is such a terrible school I've been begging to leave since the first day of yr 7 some creepyale teachers threatening to measure your skirt length with a ruler . It is so boring there is nothing to do at break and lunch apart from sit down we can't even use our own mugga which is like a big turf used for pe even though it's on our school grounds they let the valley boys play football on it instead. They scam you on open evenings but having fancy lights and outdoor games when I'm reality you never get to use them . Don't send your child here

Great school

Great school and so many great activities! There’s many events and a lot of information about events beforehand. The teachers try to take great care of the students and I’m not sure why all the reviews are so negative because invicta look after their pupils (and pupils metal health). All the teachers are lovely ! The school buildings are absolutely immaculate, you can’t even tell that children are there every day. I swear there’s someone going round painting the walls 24/7 😂! Overall great school and learning place.

Absolutely dumb

I sent my daughter to this school for a month and not a week later she told me she was getting bullied by staff members and they even weighed her which caused her to have an eating disorder, she thinks she will never be good enough for anyone because of this stupid school.

An emotional roller coaster

If you enjoy illusions, paint and lies then invicta grammar is the place for you. When it comes to the root of it, this school is a individuality draining mess focused on cramming students into a mould which they clearly do not belong. I began at Invicta in 2018 and like many, was in awe by the facilities but unfortunately empty promises. “Big sisters” “plenty of support “ “individuality” the list goes on and on my friends, but don’t be fooled. The lack of effective communication is shocking considering it’s one of the “best schools in Kent” and that is only part of the issue. Between year 7 and 8 issues were easy to ignore, the awful environment masked with trips to exotic places dangled in front of us, but as I progressed it only became worse. As a student who consistently gets high grades and cares a lot about their studies I found myself beginning to find the pressure building up. When I reached out for help the attitude was disgusting and after one lame meeting of telling me to just “relax “ my issue was quickly forgotten about. It appears that unless your behaviour is the issue that your mental health and problems are not welcome in the hostile student support centre. The amount of teachers leaving every year is also highly concerning, with gcse classes being thrown around with new teachers left right and centre. I am now a gcse student whose mental health has never been worse and the lack of support I have received from the so called “pastoral team” is embarrassing. I am unsure what the sixth form is like but from my experiences at the school unless you are perfectly stable then you will reach many points of struggle. Don’t get me wrong there are some staff members who truly care and if it wasn’t for that I don’t know how I would still be going but in my experience, the negatives outweigh the positives.

Good review 🤩

I love my lessons, most of my teachers, and have made some good friends. Lessons are challenging, keep me on my feet. I have had some challenging times, but I know some good times are coming as well.

horrible.

This school is abhorrent in the way it cares for its students. Quite a few of its students (including me) have suffered with mental health problems which have partly been caused by THIS SCHOOL. They don’t handle any of your problems and just say to prioritise your grades and “get through it”, and plus they don’t deal with bullying, homophobia/transphobia, racism and everything else they SHOULD be dealing with.
Also, not to mention THE CLOTHES PRICES??? They are extremely over the top and unnecessary, and you’ll grow out of them in half a year anyway. £30 for a SINGULAR JUMPER? Crazy. ALSO, their food prices??? the food itself isn’t too bad.. but SO OVERPRICED. They need to definitely start thinking about the poorer people, not just being money-hungry all the time, then blowing it all on PAINT. They have had faulty printers for years, and sanction or give detentions to their students for turning up to class late BECAUSE OF THEIR PRINTERS. They don’t work half the time, and the other half the time there’s students blocking the hallways and obstructing other peoples learning.
Overall, the teachers are ok. Quite a few of them are actually quite nice, surprisingly.
Final message — This school doesn’t deserve the amount of awards it gets.

Truly awful

I moved my daughter away from this prison camp which has an increasingly serious weed problem - expect self harm to be rife, as early as year 8, expect the school to care only that your child still attends school regardless and expect support for this to be limited and inflexible, expect your daughter's SEN needs to be ignored and disrespected, expect school policy to come way before your daughter's well being, mental health and education (yes you read that correctly), expect paint for the walls to take priority over equipment, expect any initiative taken by your daughter to resolve issues herself to be stamped on. Hard. Very hard. Expect to pay well over the norm for food and uniform, expect to jump through numerous hoops to get anything resolved, and even then only to their satisfaction. Yes they say they care, but dont show it, yes they have a well being award but its meaningless when your daughter isnt allowed to access the help she needs, yes they put on a great show at open evening but it successfully masks what is possibly the most toxic environment I've ever come across for children's education. The schools response to my daughter's leaving? Not. A. Single. Word. If your daughter doesn't have mental health issues before she starts Invicta, she will do by the time she leaves.

Made us weigh ourselves!!!

This school is rubbish for people who aren’t fully mentally stable. Which is everyone in this day and age. It makes half of the students suicidal and the other half have frequent panic attacks, because everyone is stressed that they aren’t doing good enough. Recently a teacher from this school has stood on a pathway - out side of the school - that the students use to get to there bus stops, and sanctioned (aka strikes, demerit ext.) anyone who had there skirts rolled up or any make up on. This was outside of school and school hours!!! In the past they have forced people to weigh themselves as an “experiment” which has caused many eating disorders. In short they say they care about mental health but they don’t. It’s all about how you represent the school. Unless you want to be depressed then don’t come here.

Ok but not great

They are very pushy about stupid stuff such as skirt length and they expect everyone to be able to buy a new skirt every time it gets like 1mm short considering that the skirts are £40 and blazers are £80. The buildings are kinda nice but they paint the walls far too much. My friend had an asthma attack when walking through a recently painted corridor just because of the paint fumes. Also like a half the male teachers are pedos. Why do they insist on making year 7’s do 2 sets of exams a year that’s just stupid. This school gets good results but only cause they don’t care about students mental health or about racism, homophobia etc.

It's ok but has flaws

It's ok not the best not the worst. Focuses more on smarter students so less smarter students don't get any attention. Don't really care about how you feel. Teachers don't alayss teach enough feels like in exams they missed a chunk of information needed. Don't care about racism, trans/homophobia ect. Pressure u so much way too much work. Teachers make big fuss out of small things but don't care about the big things or if they do they handle in bad way. Still go to school if u wanna.

Don’t go here

Honestly this isn’t as good at it seems all the staff care about is how long students skirts are and how much paint they need to buy that month. The canteen food is extremely overpriced and tastes horrible. Also they do nothing to help with mental health in any regards, they just tell you get get on with it. Some teachers are absolutely lovely and help a lot but me majority don’t and only care about grades. They only want to look good in the public eye

Good but bad

Invicta Grammar is a good school in terms of how intellectually challenging it is, with some amazing teachers outweighing those who aren’t as great. For those who aren’t as smart as others the school does nothing to make you feel better when everyone is boasting about their scores. It’s said that mental health is overall good, but only the teachers say that, if you ask any student they will disagree fully, as I am doing.

Terrible school don’t go

The school has made me miserable then they had the audacity to tell us getting off our phones will help, and saying that 50 percent of mental health problems start by age 14. Hmm wonder why when they make us so miserable.

don't come here

school does barely anything to help students with their mental health, i've seen it happen to me and more than a few friends. they are way too pushy and your best is never good enough for them. they care so much about uniform/skirt length and don't care enough about actual issues like homophobia or racism etc. please don't come here, it's really really bad.

Overall sucks :(

So many of my friends have experienced racism and homophobia (even by some teachers). They are all white supremacists. No support whatsoever, clear favouritism displayed by the staff and only care about their title and reviews. Some teachers are really nice but they aren’t going to be there forever. Good luck to any newcomers bc the older years will be mean to you <3

Awful

Teachers do nothing about racism if you love your mental health don’t go there as they don’t care. They don’t care about the students they only care about the grades which makes it a damaging place to be

Teachers causing COVID

A one-way system has been implemented, with few teachers adhering to it and students do not always follow either. Students are required to wear masks throughout corridors and this is adhered, however majority of the teachers apart from science do not wear masks whilst walking around the classrooms.
Student

karen

no social distancing and teachers don’t wear masks in classes even though they teach multiple year groups so basically there’s no point of year group bubbles. also when someone tested positive the whole bubble (year group) should of social distanced..
