Bad school

I would have given it a 0 if there was one where do I start my daughter started last year she really enjoyed it at first then soon after the Christmas holiday she started to get bullied girls saying she was disgusting and telling her to make herself sick coz she was over weight tried ringing the headmistress her reaction was she was not bothered tried emailing her as well no answer her work as gone down really bad and worse of all if you need to go to the toilet you have to have a pass if you don't have one then you have to hold it till there lesson as finished so my advise is don't even think about putting your children into this school

Lazy and Careless

I joined this school a year before it became known as Iveshead. After the change, the quality of teaching and care to students significantly declined. Maths was an especially poor faculty, with minimal effort put in by the teachers. Extra maths was just more online websites and minimal interaction with the teachers. Most work was online, as well as homework, which isn't helpful to people with low WIFI. Students with mental health difficulties are branded as trouble makers, and despite anti- bullying assembly's, bulling was a big problem throughout my time there. Everything considered, I would suggest looking at other schools first before sending your children here.

do not reccomend, ever .

As a past student at Iveshead my experiences was pretty miserable. The support for mental health and well being was shocking, me and many other students received no help or support because it shoved under the rug and completely ignored, I came to the support team many times and was never given any sort of guidance or comfort and after my experiences I decided to never ask for help again because of their attitudes.
Not only that but the rules are ridiculous, no students are allowed to go to the toilet (unless you have a medial condition) which is strictly demanded by mrs mcnally students would walk out of the lesson to relief themselves meaning that they would be punished.
If you do something that mrs mcnally doesn't like she will more that likely instantly scream at you without even thinking (unless she's having a good day herself) , every time she spoke to me my legs would shake and I would become increasingly scared. personally I believe that no student should feel terrified of their teachers even if they are poorly behaved, being punished is mandatory sometimes but in the way she does it really is disgusting.

However, some of the teachers are great. guidance, reassurance and kindness is there for some teachers which is what kept me going through my school years, I found that I could openly speak to my English teacher and my tutor teacher about my troubles instead of the staff that are supposed to help.

If you are reading this because you might be sending your own child to Iveshead I recommend not doing so, this school made me dread waking up in the morning and I will never wish coming back, I'm glad that I have left and I hope that the school improves eventually.

Bad school

This school is terrible . I am a student i am currently struggling majorly with mental health and on multiple occasions the school has been told to give me some sort of support, weve been advised to take me out and the doctors have sent a letter for the inclusion team for me to home learn but the school wont accept it I highly suggest looking at other schools as this school is useless

"No support from the senior staff"

The reason i had to write a review because of how BAD this school really is. I have a few issues i would like to address. The one issue is with the SLT ( senior leadership team ). I was a well behaved and fairly bright student at Iveshead but the SLT were extremely disappointing as even the slightest things like not wearing your blazer in the corridor or wearing your coat because it was rainy or cold you would be logged for (detention). I do have to say that the teachers themselves are fantastic or at least my experience was with them. But yet again the leadership team were poor and unsatisfactory, They don't seem to be bothered about other peoples mental health and just seem to be bothered about your coats and uniform. I was also a music student here at Iveshead and we had Mac's to do our work on which was fantastic and they then got rid of them over summer not realising they were filled with our hard work and not one apology was given from them. Classrooms are also in need of desperate repair with holes in wall to chewing gum stuck on tables and ceilings. As a result of my findings and complaints i did do "ok" at school (grade wise) but with no support from the SLT only from the wonderful teachers.

Very below average

I would suggest looking at other schools before deciding to send your child here. There are a small amount of good teachers who clearly care about the education and wellbeing of their students but the majority of teachers don't. For me personally, the school has given me a lot of anxiety and caused unneeded stress. Student support and safeguarding isn't the best and mainly focuses on those who have diagnosed problems, "troublemakers" and people who have had parents call in. A lot of the time the independent students who stay to themselves are completely overlooked and are not seen as needing support. There's a bit of racism and homophobia and if it's said in front of the right teacher then it's dealt with but some teachers couldn't care less and even though there is a set punishment for offensive language, it isn't often followed. The food at Iveshead is quite nice and there's usually a big selection including vegetarian options but most of the time you'll be waiting a while in line as people like to push in. When walking to lessons a lot of students like to push and shove and look in people's bags and take things out - this isn't really an issue of the school but it's good to know and probably could be sorted out. Older students are treated like year sevens which gets extremely irritating. In conclusion, the school is sort of run like a business and it's not a good place for someone with mental health problems as they will probably get worse after attending this school.

Terrible school!!

Very VERY bad school. Please a wood sending your children here. The teachers are lazy and useless. When joining I was identified as a very bright student but was then told I would have to wait for others to catch up to my level. I spent years doing no work “waiting for others to catch up” while working towards my GCSEs. Ruined my work ethic and did not teach me anything. They try to get kids to reach the bare minimum and are satisfied with that. They do not care about your personal problems and they will not try to help you. They just want students to get the average grades so they can stay open.
