Y6 teachers and pupils in katesgrove primary school Reading UK
I am writing to raise serious concerns about the environment in Year 6 at Katesgrove Primary School am writing to raise serious concerns about the environment in Year 6 at Katesgrove. Some students continue to behave poorly—even after apologising—and the classroom has become uncomfortable and difficult to learn in. Their tone and actions aren’t respectful or setting a good example.
More importantly, it feels like teachers are not acting as positive role models. They often respond with a negative tone, put a lot of pressure on students, and don’t provide support when mistakes are made. Instead of helping students grow from their errors, the response feels more like blame. This makes the classroom stressful and discouraging.
When issues are raised—such as bullying or bad behaviour—students don’t feel heard, and some children are treated more favourably than others, even when breaking rules. That’s unfair and damaging to trust.
I believe an apology is owed for how these issues have been handled. I also ask for another inspection to make sure the classroom is a place where all students are treated fairly, supported, and given the chance to learn in a safe environment.
